Doom 3 was not scary at all. It was, on the contrary, very predictable.

Left 4 Dead. Definitely. It's great fun and a great game, especially to play with your friends, but the only really scary part is the first time you get hit by a smoker or hunter, then it's all over. I can definitely recommend the game though, just not for the scary factor of it. :P

I'm kinda old school here. I remember splatterhouse being supposedly scary but was just a very bloody action game. Fiday the 13th for the NES was also a yawner and was just plain bad as a game.

I didn't find Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem to be that scary... but then again I didn't get that much into it.

Yea Resident Evil 4 wasn't scary at all. For me I guess is because it was a third person (well technically "second person") shooter. So whenever I get attacked I see my character getting attacked and not some creature flying at my face. If that would have been a first person game though then it might have been a different story, lol.

The first F.E.A.R. was complete utter bulldroppings. It did have a couple "toast" scares, as Master22988 described.

Silent Hill 5. People say that it failed because it wasn't made by japanese people but I say that even if it wasn't scary enough we must keep our faith in the good ol' AMERICA!

Mmm... I'd say a HUGE disappointment in the scare department was The Suffering. It was supposed to be this big scary deal with monsters based on well suffering, but to quote Master again, it all boiled to to a couple of toast scares.

Yeah Doom 3 was scary.. even though "like you said" its an old-school game that was supposed to be scary (and cuz of that you lost the scary element inside it).. It's still scary for me.. Resident Evil is worth.. RE in PSX wasn't frightening at all (thrilling, somehow yeah).. But in PS2 XBOX 360, and PS3 it became much better.. with the animations and the mobility of the "zombies" in the game.. But then again, it goes back to the word "not scary"..

Doom 3 wasn't scary during the day, but in the fifth grade I spent the night at a friends house and I remember we stayed up till about 2am just to play all through doom 3 in complete and total darkness. We got to a level where tons of teleports were going on and it teleported right next to us and that was pretty scary =S.But for games that weren't scary at all I'd have to say Condemned: Criminal Origins. Huge hype for it being scary where I live, but it was a let down. =/

I heard stuff about Fallout 3 being scary,Why, the eyeballs and organs flying around you is the most amusing part of the game!I even trew a corpse down a huge tower!!!When I left the ground floor, the corpse was in a dry fountain, bullseye I tell you! ^_^
