Hey honestly i dont think L4D was even supposed to be scary. I mean, there's not a lot of other choices of things to charge you and try to eat you alive are there?I think RE4 wasn't as scary as it looked though (in agreement to other statements). One or two parts that werent even supposed to be scary scared me though. I was in the village in the start and I killed everyone but i could still hear the music that tells me an enemy is near. I set up my sniper rifle and was looking all over the village and couldnt find him so i packed it up, turned around, and WTF he was right behind me -.-I'd have to go with Left 4 Dead, it was supposed to be a scary zombie game but it wasn't to me. It may be startling when you turn around and a hunter jumps right into your face though.

personally i thought dead space and resident evil: the umbrella chronicles would be scary (the umbrella chronicles vignette in re4 was kind of spooky)umbrella chronicles turned out to be a dumb arcade shooter while the poorly designed monsters in dead space made it rather boring than scaryto an extent even re4 didnt do much to scare playersthe only time i got perturbed was when i fought salazar's verdugo in the underground sewer place otherwise the game was not scary because the way enemies were portrayed flying in different directions after being struck by shotgun shells made the killing look unreal!i thought bioshock would be scary but it was pretty plain and boringeven dead rising wasnt scaryi thought the game made fun of itself in the way our guy could use just about anything to fling and cut through flailing zombiesthe even funnier was the fact that a teeny thin metal pipe did about the same damage as a huge tv set when thrown at enemiesKind of a spin-off of this thread, I'd like to know some games that were supposedly scary, but just...well, weren't.For me, Doom 3. I know it wasn't supposed to be terrifying or anything, but it's so predictable, it worked for the old-school Dooms but it's just tired out now.I'm sick of imps teleporting behind me every five seconds, only when I turn around to kill them, a revenant busts through the door (silently, I might add) to shoot me in the back with rockets. That's not scary, just annoying.Though I will say that I did kinda go "Ahh wtf" a few times here and there, but I wasn't really 'scared' by the game, just suprised once in awhile.Any others? I know there are.

doom 3 got very repetitive and was the first flash light simulatorI agree with tou about Doom 3.Left 4 dead is another game. Is a very good game, great gameplay and teamwork, but it wasn't scary at all
