in the world today? it IS possible? but not very likely... in fact, there is probably only a 2% chance of it ever happening to you or someone else

I don't believe in love at first sight, but attraction and infatuation definitely.

No, to me that'd be judging people by their appearance.

There is no such thing as "love" at first sight. That's lust.

Love at first sight doesn't really exist. If it did everyone would have a happy ending. If love at first sight existed lets take a scenario. The scenario:You see a beautiful/handsome *insert preference of gender here*. You approach the person and say that you fell in love with that person and next time you know the person admits that he's a mass murderer. Will you still love that person ?Seriously love needs to be develop over time where a deep understanding and commitment between two people are hand in hand. Love at first sight usually leads to disappointment and heartbreaks.

infatuation at first sight would be more correct I think...You can't fall in love with somebody just by looking at that person

Depends on how you're defining love. If by love you simply mean a passing, superficial attraction, then yes, love at first sight is possible. If you actually mean love, the deep interpersonal devotion, then good grief, no!

I don't believe in everlasting, jawdropping love at first sight no, but I believe that you can become heavily infatuated by someone. Sorta feels like love, but it's more like a crush.

Aww... this topic reminds me of that day when I was young and my cousin bought me this cute teddy bear I fell in love with straight away. :channel: Anyway, ahem... on a more serious note. It's a bit hard for me to say since I haven't really experienced love and all that stuff. But I kinda find it hard to believe how someone can fall in love with someone at first sight. I can understand that you can probably become infatuated with someone or become really fascinated by them upon first sight. But love... nah! :nea:I believe love is a powerful thing. It's not just liking the way someone looks but everything else like their character, the way they behave, how comfortable you each feel around each other. It takes time and that true understanding of one another HAS to develop. It's really hard for all of that happen in one mere glance. But I may be wrong. Maybe some people have fallen deeply in love with each other just at "first glance." One of my teachers used to tell us about his story when he met a girl and they literally fell in "love at first sight." He would get all mushy mushy about it lol. So maybe it can happen. I dunno.

Is there really such a thing? If there is, tell me. I still have many years to go.That kind of stuff sounds like fantasy or a dream to me.There's always reality, ready to slap you in the face.

Sadly i say no. Usually if you say you love someone at first sight you are just attracted to their looks, and looks are not everything. That "love" is usually an infatuation (I believe its spelled that way). A real love or otherwise known as Mature love takes much longer. Mature love is a relationship that you develop. It takes awhile before you are actually in the actual relationship.

Love at first sight is a highly romanticized fiction. (Usually) a lasting relationship can not develop from the first look. Possible? Sure.Likely? No.

I believe in LUST at first sight.I don't believe in love at first sight because it takes time and effort to know a person well and love them for who they are. Real love takes time to grow, and becomes really powerful once it's mature. But it's not gonna happen just because someone's presence makes your heart beat faster. It can be a start though.
