Hey everyone, Well we all know that so far, the wii is the best selling console, selling more than the 360 and PS3 This is becuase of its intuitive gameplay and design. But in times like thses, people are looking for HD, something the wii doesnt have. So what do you think will happen in the next year or so with the wii ( iimprovements)

I still see it as a great system, it needs more time to develope thats all, its hard for companies to just already know how to make the perfect game right off when they are given a new idea, a new control, just give it some more time and it will be amazing

Honestly, I don't think the Wii is going to last much longer. In my opinion, they are running out of ideas for good Wii games. The X-Box 360 has amazing graphics compared to the Wii.

Jeez, people these days thinking that the better the graphics, the better the game.It is true, Nintendo has been low on ideas on making good Wii games for US and European releases, but Japanese Wii games seem promising. I'm pretty sure that once some of the Jap games hit the US, it could bring more people to the Wii.Even though the Wii's graphics does not compare with the Xbox 360 and PS3, it still outsells both of them, because of the face that the Wii games have a more general audience, with games that are family-orientated. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have more Adult rated games, which in my opinion, do not really appeal with most parents. The Wii is great in games and general gameplay, but however, the graphics could use a small boost. Really do not like seeing GC graphics in Mario games...

Hmm...I personally do not own a PS3 or a XBOX360, but I have gone to friend's house and played their's. In my opinion, I do like the the others much much more because of their graphics, not that WII's is a lot worst but bleh, could be better :^*Anyway, I do think that the WII will last long enough until the next generation console because it's target is all ages.

the wii will continue to sell a lot more then the others just cause it is different but this will be the first time the leading console will not have the best games on it

Seriously, why do people think that the Wii will suddenly go some "miracle" transformation?http://hackmii.com/2...get-any-better/Read that article and know that the Wii is flawed right from the get go. Nintendo made some serious mistakes, so what we have is pretty much what we get.All we can depend on are good games. The Wii definitely has some, but it has to keep putting them out to deal with its flaws.

that has got nothing to do with anything...I mean...look at the sales, Wii>>>Xbox...I hate when people come with the 'graphics are better' excuse and that's an invalid argument in this topic.On-topic: Nintendo has been the only one to use well the Wii characteristics, few 3rd parties have gotten the swing on how to make a good Wii title

But the 360 will die eventually if they keep having ports and stuff, they just need to STOP making games that involve A LOT with the motion sensor like some crappy games out there

Well the new interface and design of gameplay has deffinately enhanced the possibilities of Nintendo and also attracted more followers who were previously not interested in games. it can be utilised for the whole family to play and there are all sorts of games for different ages. However i feel that a vast majority of Wii games are just 'bashed out'. little ideas, that if thought over longer could be alot better. I think alot of 'those' games can be very overpriced for what they are and this is where the PS3 and XBOX 360 comes in. not as frequent releases, longer lasting games with good plots and storylines, they take longer to make and they can be more expensive than Wii games but overall alot more fullfilling. HD doesnt matter much to me about the Wii. but the main thing i think they have to improve are their games, we NEED longer more intricate games!! oh and less wires on a console that has wireless controllers!! for mickeys sake why are they so long?! a simple thing they need to improve on is Sensor pick-up! maybe evern a possibility of some sort of split sensor as i find it hard to get everyone's Wiimotes being picked up when having a 4player game.

I feel like Nintendo is in a pretty good position to launch a next-gen console that actually will compete with Playstation/Xbox on the same performance level. With the Wii, they have got developers aware that people really enjoy using the intuitive controls for certain types of games. Plus, they've got that motion sensor technology patented. I wouldn't be surprised if the next-gen Nintendo system was basically equivalent to PS4/Xbox720 except with Wii controls. But I agree that the Wii has a dark future. Nintendo probably doesn't care though, I don't understand their business model sometimes.

The future of Wii is pretty much dependent on if the new markets being introduced to the wii end up being supported. I know of a few new first person shooters, gory action games, and RPG coming out for the Wii. As long as people really like them, and as long as people come out with new games to support that new market, then the wii can continue being on top.Example:I know a port of phantom brave is coming out for the wii soon. obviously Nippon ichi is testing the waters to see if there is a market that will play RPGs on the wii.If the Wii can be the system that Nippon Ichi chooses to develop all its games, the wii is going to have some pretty kick arse strategy rpgs in the future.

I know Nintendo for it's marketing strategy. If it follows suit with what ever other company does, then we may see another version of it released with more enhancements. I'm saying this due to what I've seen Nintendo has done in the past. Look at the Gameboy systems for example, they first started with the fat grey brick gameboy. Next they made gameboy color (and to clarify, the gameboy's case was colored, so it still didn't play games in color). Then they released gameboy pocket. Then finally, they released 'Gameboy color' (this played games in color). After that, the gba came out followed by a slimmer verison of it. Then the ds came out, followed by the ds lite. And now, they're about to release the dsi. If you notice the pattern, they use it as a marketing strategy. After the gba was out for a while, they had the ds ready to release, but held off due to the revenue they made from the gba (I got this from a show on G4 that talked about Nintendo's success). So, my belief is that they'll just repeat what they've been doing for a while.

Graphics do not make the game. Yes, the Wii has the lowest graphical potential out of the three but people seem to be forgetting that the PS2, which was the weakest of it's generation had many innovative and creative games. Also, look at it from the games development perspective, less graphical potential means less time required in that department and more put into creativity. More power = more expected content (great graphics being one of them) = more time and money spent on expected content = less tolerance for risk and creativity.Just give it time; as developers (and every one else) get over the idea that the Wii's motion control is some stupid gimmick to cash in on, we will start seeing better games (that's not to say there isn't any at the moment). All this is assuming Nintendo doesn't do anything stupid like it did with Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.

I like the Wii. It is a very smooth running system. But I think that maybe the XBOX-360 will outrun it within the next few years because of the graphics and variety.

It seems to me that the Wii craze has actually died down. Developers seem like they are focusing more on other consoles right now, especially American developers. I haven't heard of any new Wii games that are must-gets at all, but maybe that's me. With that in mind, the future does not look so good for the Wii, since the life of a console is based on the games it gets.

the wii craze is dead. i think horrendous third party support will be the death of it. that mixed with all the so-called "games" targeted towards the casuals

Well so far the Wii has done a great job of attracting people who dont play games, so the reason they had such an explosion of sales for so long is because any of their hgames you can pick up and play with the family - wii fit, some wii ware games, wii music (altho thats a terrible game) some may not be great gameplay, but its good for people who dont really play games, and then they have a minority of good proper games for true gamers. As for improvements i think u are righjt with HD, i think they'll bring that to the next evolution of Wii and hopefully make more choices for Mii's and also improve the way the Mii's look..cuz quite frankly they look rubbish, after the 360 copied their idea and made it much bettr looking. They'll create more COnsole storage and perhaps more USB slots. more family gameplay, more innovative ideas but hopefully more good games. hmmm i cant ee much more than graphics, space and HD coming to the next generation of Wii.
