Personally, i think it would be great to have one system to play everything on.. Technically the machine has been around for a while now, and your on it.. I mean, I know you can play almost anything on a PC this days any way.. Not to mention the systems now are exactly that.. small computers dedicated souly to gaming.

no, i doubt it will ever end, for people can't get along and money is to much of a motivator for them to get along. i would love it for them to co-operate and create the "master system" but i highly doubt that their greed will ever allow the companys to combine.

I think what will happen is heaps of companies will merge together till there are two Uber Platforms .And they will fight to the death (Which is pretty much all ready happening with PS and Xbox). And when one loses the other company will buy it up, and then there will be the one and only UberSuperDuper Platform.Which would be good, but there is also the negative side. Because if there is no more competition, then they wont try as hard to update their stuff. And that would make many people sad. Im a fan of healthy competition. So what would be really good is if games could be played on both platforms, but there are certain things that are only unlocked if you play it on the console it was designed for. Then youd still be able to play the games on the Platform of your choosing, but the companies are still fighting and improving their stuff.

I think the xbox 360 is the best because it has the most applications, the best graphics and the most users.GPs were deducted from this post, please read the rules! - KM™

While it would be good to have 'one to rule them all', there is always going to be competition. It is healthy though, as it gives the companies incentive to work harder to get our money :)

I wish it would, so i wouldn't have to be "Oh, that game looks great. To bad its on such and such and not on the one i own." Depression.

The console war is only making multi-system gaming more permanent. If there wasn't a console war, then companies would start collaberating, and that would bring an end to multi-sytem gaming.

I don't think that will ever happen. They are all from different companies, making profits for their own gain.

I don't believe the console war will ever end unless one company buys out all the others, but its incredibly unlikely it will ever happen. No one company will get so far ahead of the others that it would be possible to buy out that company. I reckon multi-console gaming will last forever
