in my opinion the stupidest piece of dialog is from resident evel"Here is a lockpick. It might be useful if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you"

To me the most stupid dialog would be to repeat something completely useless to anyone hearing it.I'm not refering to a specific game but that's just how it is. It irritates me! :D

Agreed, the resident evil series has all kinds of aweful dialog. they only thing i can come up with is that maybe it doesn't sound so corny in the native Japanese language.

i dont think i played that one but it sounds... sarcasticbut the stupidest game dialogue goes to rainbow six vegas 2, when your fighting a group of terrorists, taking the game serously, you hear shouts of "Aim! For the head!" "Aim for their leader!!" and the stupidest one: "Aim. And shoot!"

Actually, I agree with you there. A prime example would be the dreaded "HEY, Listen.." from the first zelda game on the 64. It was very pointless, and very annoying to hear over and over again. I have heard some other dialog that was really bad, but I can't recall any that jump out at the moment.

In the early Pokemon games there was this "youngster" you fought and what he said right before battle was, "Hi! I like shorts! They're comfy and easy to wear!" ^_^ Like...what was the point of that? lol! So I'd have to say that that's the dumbest dialoguw I'VE ever seen. ^_^

Even WindWaker had those stupid noices by the NPC's when games like Tomb Raider had full spoken dialog

So, what would be you're reaction when someone challenges you with this introduction?

Hi! I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

Any dialogue I can make an NPC repeat is kind of dumb.Oh! All boss' "Bwahahahahaha I am invincible you cannot win etc etc etc" lines make me cringe.

Ever since Gold version, this has bothered me: Why do 80% of the enemies in monster-catching games say "You're so strong!" when you beat them, when the monsters did all the work; they should have no idea how strong YOU are! Pokemon, Digimon World, Dragon Quest Monsters, I've played tons that do this...

I can't recall ever having read that "You're so strong!" dialogue in either digimon nor pokemon games. And I agree with Suspect TC, some game developers make npcs repeat the dialogue so many times its not even funny especially when it comes to mmorpgs

I'm not saying this is dumb, but when Peppy says "Do a barrel roll!" in every single level of Star Fox 64, it gets quite annoying.

Once again with the offering of irrelevant information in games is when you have the option to right click on objects for a description. And the description of a flower is: A flower. It doesnt really annoy me too much, I just have no idea why someone would waste their time adding that function into a game.
