I was under the impression that you could already use your psp as a ps3 controller (I saw a maping for the buttons, you press select and R1 for R2) but that might just be for the remote play thing, and as for the paying psp games on ps3 the problem is that the graphics wouldn't look right because psp games don't need to be as high quality as ps3 games, it would take a huge amount of upscaling to make it look presentable and even that it probably wouldn't look as good as on psp

Using your PSP as a controller would be nice...albeit the lack of a second analog would really mess things up. Aside from that, playing PSP on big screen would be a great idea, the Gameboy Player worked, didn't it?

Being able to play handheld games on a home console is something that has been available for many many years. Being able to continue this only makes sense. Of course you would still play them on the go, but sometimes you just want the option to see the games on a larger screen, while relaxed in your favorite chair. Besides, it's a whole lot easier on your back/neck/eyes that way (at least for me!)

I think it would be really cool if you could use you psp as a screen for your ps3. Any thoughts on that?

It would be great if you could play games against people using PS3 (such as NFS series), Nintendo do this with Wii and DS(i).Surely this would be the biggest selling point.

The idea of having a PSP is so that it can be a PSP. Not a controller for the PS3 or an extra screen. Yes, it would save you some money on buying another controller, but its got its limitations. There is no R2, L2, R3, L3 and the whole left stick. Connecting the PSP to your PS3 and using it as an extra screen would cause much more problems on the PS3. Sending another video output to the PSP, with it being converted so that it looks viewable on the PSP would cause too much strain on the PS3 itself, hence creating frame rate issues. There is no point in playing PSP games with your PS3. You can use a second controller for that. Also most PSP games are different versions than the ones on PS3. Playing your PSP games through your PS3 would be ridiculous. You can already plug your PSP to your television, wiping out the factor that you need a PS3.
