I'm looking forward to this game, the idea of using trains is imo brilliant. I loved PH, so I;ll probably love this installment just the same.

I know zelda games are known to always exceed expectations, but I think they're making mistake by adding train feature.. I must admit sailing of PH was quite meaningless, but restricting movement on a trail doesn't look good. Other than that, however, I'm looking forward to another great adventure game.

I just thought of something clever...The game is called spirit tracks right? I bet that at some point in the game, Link will be able to deviated from real tracks to "spirit" tracks that you draw on your touch screen. It's just another vehicle to me.Who knows... Maybe the next Zelda game will be called "Wing's of Fate" where Link has a plane! Though that might work out better for the Wii... =3

Actually reggie commented that the name might change This is what he had to say about the title to MTV

MTV Multiplayer: Yeah. Now, when you guys were thinking of the subtitle for the new “Zelda” ["The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks"], did you start with my initials and go from there?Fils-Aime: That was not the driver.MTV Multiplayer: Ok. Because the “Halo 3” spin-off was originally “Halo 3: Recon.” They changed it to “Halo 3: ODST. And you guys? “The Legend of Zelda: ST”!Fils-Aime: I have to say that, as we were doing all the naming, and working with NCL [Nintendo's Japanese main office], we were not in the background saying, “It’s gotta be Stephen Totilo somehow!”MTV Multiplayer: It should be. But that’s a tentative title, right? So people shouldn’t get too attached to it?Fils-Aime: Correct.

Wow, looks nice. But I wonder if it's in the same universe as Phantom hourglass, sure their's the same graphics, but the world seems quite different. On a side note, it seems like it is quite annoying to have points taken away from you because of short posts. Seems like a stupid rule to me. But whatev.

I saw a video on the gameplay, and I don't know how it will turn out. It seems like a crazy idea but I still will try it, I hope it's good.

Me too! But PH is in the same universe as WW. I'm thinking that this is an actually new zelda.. finally. Hopefully, a new story from the people of Nintendo, though they can't really change the Zelda and Ganon part of the LOZ lore.

Well I have to personally post my opinion. The suggestion of controlling a train and not keeping the action to you seems kind of like a step back. I mean Zelda is primarily an action/adventure game. In my opinion it should stick to that instead of like in the video it was shown you controlling someone/something else with the stylus. Unless it has extremely strong reviews i won't be buying this game

Hey, I was on my Wii the other day and I watched a video on Nintendo Channel. It was called LoZ: Spirit/Phantom Tracks (I think it depends where you live) for NDS. Its graphics are of Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass, so you p,ay as toon link. Instead of a boat, your a *cough* Train Driver *cough* in the land of Hyrule. From what I can tell, I think there's a temporal discrepency, due to the fact you drive a train, in between mountains and forests, so it might be the future or more likely the past. If you played WW, think back to when you visit Hyrule Castle, under the ocean. It also appears to have similar gameplay behaviour to PH, with the item "circle" in the top corner. During the vid, it appears you'll be getting a 'Gale Boomerang' or similar. Link also looks like a train conductor. I think I also saw some part of moving a statue, so it might have the 'Dominion Rod' or similar. That's a lot for a 2:22 movie, but it seems worth it due to the whole drive a train thingy. It's obviously a steam/coal train. With a cannon! It also seems faster than using Epona hehe. Just wondering what you think.-Auzzie Wingman-

I'm totally bias against the new LOZ games starting with wind waker, excluding twilight princess, Phantam hourglass, etc. the graphics totally sucks you have to use a stylus and DS and stuff. they should make more games in the style of TP

Counter! Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass rule! Twilight Princess was annoying, the bosses were EZ (well most of them are, but critical analysis shows that every boss is equal in difficulty, over all games) As for graphics, the toon appearance makes it much more appealing. With this level of detail, you can chuck in a lot more, making the game more fun. but hey you can say what you want, i said mine. Fair? As for my previous post, didn't realise there was a thread. Must have overlooked it.BTW: Thanks Greenz for redirecting the post.

I agree to most extent. I've been a Zelda fan from the very beginning of Zelda and the game realy started downhill with wind walker. I hate using the stylus most of the time with this type of game. I bought my DS with Phantam of the hourglass and have very few playing time hours with it compared to the old zelda's which I still enjoy playing over and over.I downloaded and have tried out Spirit Tracks but the game fails when I get on the train. The game gives directions as to how to control the engine but does not pop up any controls that I can find.......... so I'm going down the track with a limited amount of time, I hit a cow or pig on the track the train stops and there's nothing I can do until the time runs out. Real Bummer........

Phantom Hourglass was pretty addictive, and some of the elements of that made spirit tracks a fun game, but it also seemed fairly repetitive, even though the 'train' portion of it was rather novel.

Truthfully, i think Phantom Hourglass is way better than Spirit Tracks. Therefore, i didn't get the game after seeing the trailer. I think it's kinda strange for Zelda to use a train for travel instead of some fancy teleportation magical way....
