I have just read this storyhttp://kotaku.com/51...playing-wii-fitI will summarize it here more or less.Tim Eves a 25 year old died while playing on the wii fit he was considered a healthy person he was a scout leader and played in a rock band. There is no reason of death yet but they think it is Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.Eves was in the middle of jogging in place while playing the game, when he collapsed unexpectedly. His girlfriend Emma Tuck, also 25, attempted to revive him and called the ambulance that would take him to the hospital, where he died upon arrival.

Well, since "A post-mortem has been held but the cause of death is yet to be determined." it may have been some underlying disease that he had that just coincidentally kicked in. I'll hold my opinion back until we here a definite "he overexerted himself" or something similar before blaming Wii Fit (unlike probably everybody else in America).

Like everyone else said, there must have been something else within his health that led to his cause of death. A game CAN NOT kill you physically unless you're playing it inappropriately (or involving the characters and their behavior to your very own life). I do hope they perform a proper investigation of this case before blaming a company. I also look forward to any more discoveries they find according to this case.

He told us he had just ordered himself a kebab and was sitting there with a glass of port

This could be a case of a heart burn as the guy was not only jogging in place but also talking with his parents on the phone. Though they said that the guy just plain collapsed after putting down the phone without clutching his heart.Still, whether he has eaten something bad or has an underlying disease is under debate until they determine how he died.

I've had a lot of friends that have complained about being worn out after playing Wii Fit so perhaps he couldn't get his breath or something like that which wouldn't show anything wrong with him.

Oh dear, that sounds terrible. but i wouldnt defer from buying a Wii Fit because of it, obviously it was because of the sudden death syndrome, its happened to many footballers and sports men..mainly men actually. but if it happens it happens to me, if i have the syndrome i'd find out either doing something sporty or on wii fit...certainly dont e put off by it, thats a very small percentage of the world who die from it and i have heard 10times more stories about people getting fit from it or having alot of fun! i lvoe it!

I highly doubt it had anything to do with the Wii or the game. He probably just happened to be playing Wii Fit while he collapsed. Death can occur at any time.

Flippant response: "You're not doin' it right."More thoughtful response: Was he following the instructions the WiiFit game gives?I've played WiiFit several times at my brother's house and been encouraged to warm up before playing and take breaks. And I was doing nothing more strenuous than the balance games and a little cardio. (Though even the balance games got me sweating.)More than likely, he had an underlying health condition. If it were something WiiFit was doing wrong then we would have heard more about these sorts of deaths right now. We've heard plenty of horror stories of WiiRemote mishaps, haven't we?

It wasn't the Wii, it was just an underlying condition that he may have had. I hope this doesn't happen, but it's actually a perfect opportunity to sue Nintendo. Jus' sayin!

Agreed. . .just hire a good layer; surely they can come up with kind of semi-believable argument like "they made the game so addictive he worked himself to death" and rack up a million dollars off them. Personally; I'll suspect they'll come up with a logical reason upon autopsy - his heart was caked with cholesterol; his blood pressure was too high, etc.
