I think it will be a really good game, just like the previous Halos. My only complaint is the lack of Spartans. They are what makes Halo well... Halo. It wouldn't have to be the MC, just some Spartans running around and stomping faces in.

in all honesty this spin off looks a bit uninspired. I wish they could give the Halo franchise a break for a little while, they're milking this cow to death. i dont doubt it will be enjoyable to play by most people, only I need a some new ideas thrown in there to liven things up a bit.

^-^ i actually got to play it and it blows hard for the reason you stated there not really adding anything new, it's the same old game but with a different character there not choosing to improve it like TVC which they added 4 new character's for the 2 they took out. about the only reason anyone should buy ODST is if they still play Halo 3 as there major game

It looks really good for a halo game, and it should be better then halo 3 and will hopeful be a turning point in how bungie makes games in the halo.

I've just beat it and I'm not exactly what you would call impressed. It was a decent game though.

I am satisfied with it so far. The new campaign (and playing style) is pretty consersative (a lot like old halos), but I love the old halo formula. I was really happy when they brought back Midship in multiplayer, too.

If you don't know whats regenerating your HP in Halo 2 and 3, that's kinda sad. When Halo 2 came out there was somewhat of an outrage over the removal of the health bar and health packs. Bungie's reason for this is with the armor upgrade, an addition to the armor is automatic bio-foam injectors all over the body. That's what's regenerating your health, not nothing. And BTW, take one l out of mjolnir, you look like a retard.Anyway, ODST looks fantastic. It's nice to see what happened to New Mombasa after the covenant basically leveled the city with an in-system slipspace jump. And the Horde style Firefight should be pretty kick-ass as well. Nice to see the Halo 1 pistol back, too. People say the flashback story would suck but, from what I've seen, is a great way to tell a story.

Actually the word M'Jollnir comes from Norse Mythology. It's the name of Thor's hammer. Which is where Halo got the name from. I just added 117 to make my username more game oriented. Also, about the biofoam part. It doesn't heal anything. It's like a massive upgrade to a bandage. A field dressing meant to keep soldiers from dying while they wait to be medivac-ed out of the front lines. Super late reply to all that, but I rarely leave the SC anymore.Back on topic, my friend has it, I played it at his house for a while. Just the firefight. It's fun, I'm not surprised by that though.

I not that impress with it. I heard it's too short. I'll just wait till it get's cheaper. Fire Fight mode looks fun.

Sure, the campaign storyline wasn't half bad... But firefight get's a little boring after awhile. But, Reach Beta on the other hand... Is a COMPLETELY different story!

This game obviously has very little content and should have been dlc yet there are people praising it as being great I really don't understand people like that, I guess advertising pays off though

I finally got to play it. It was... short (about 4 hours long for me), but I was playing co-op and the difficulty was set to normal. Aside from that I enjoyed the game. The concept of finding key items and then getting to replay a memory that what happened and how the items ended up the way they were was neat. For example, the PC Rookie finds a helmet lodged in a wall. How did that happen?I didn't try firefight but I assume it's similar to GoW 2's Horde mode.

I dont see any reason to get it if your worried about the single player mode, Ive heard absolutely nothing about the single player and I stick with multiplayer, which is sweet. If you dont have halo 3 and/or dont have live, than this game would be perfect for you, it comes with multiplayer packs and stuff so you can play all those levels your friends had n you didnt cuz you dont have live.

The game was decent. (But maybe that's only because I can't bring myself to criticize a halo game) That being said, I was really disappointed. I expect halo games to blow me away, as the first three halo games did. For the single player, the dialogue was terrible and the gameplay was boring and over exhausted with a pointless plot. ("oh we have to go to earth. wait, now that we're on earth, we have to leave after accomplishing nothing") Multiplayer is basically the same as the previous halo games, with a few tweaks like the health bar and some different maps. All in all, in my opinion, the halo video game franchise ended with Halo 3 (maybe Halo Wars because it was a pretty good game) and everything else after it seems like a desperate attempt on Bungie's account to keep the game alive. All good things have to end sometime. I really wish Bungie would realize that and come up with a new awesome game instead of trying to keep pushing the Halo franchise.

Frankly i'm disappointed by this game. I had pretty reasonable expectations from Bungie after 1 2 and 3, but ODST was a total let down. The way they told the story was interesting, but at the same time it really made me lose that sense of character and purpose, as you kept randomly reliving the events of some other person. I often found myself after such a flashback rather disoriented and confused as to where I was, and since those scenes were often quiet action packed, the sudden silence and stealthy fashion of your 'main' character felt a little lack luster.MP (if you can even call it that) also was a huge let down. I expected Firefight to be an online thing, not something I had to invite people to play me with. And the fact they added Halo3 MP to boost the price really grinds my gears. I mean, what's the point? chances are most if not all the buyers of the game will have Halo 3 already, so its unlikely they need that disc at all. It did probably get a brief resurgence of interest into Halo 3's MP, but beyond that all it did was rack in some unfair cash for M$. :/
