I've read all of the books, and I own three. I've also seen all of the movies and I own two. I'm not the biggest fan of either of them. I mean, Stephenie Meyers writes like a thirteen year old. I couldn't get over some of the line she wrote in the book, or what kind of mood she set. She ruined the idea of vampires, but I do like the werewolves. Only good thing about Twilight is Jacob Black.

the movie sucked. the book was good though. the reason why the book was good and the movie belonged in the trash was because the book was mainly about how bella felt. meyer put a lot of detail in describing how she felt at almost every moment but the movie was unable to portray that and it was only able to show the plot. and since the plot wasn't that great to begin with, twilight sucked.

twilight is the worst thing to happen to vampires since the dawn of time stephanie meyer modeled bella after herself and she said she dreamed the whole series

I feel that it's fine and that no one would have problems with the series had they been a shoujo manga. I think that the problem some people have with it is that it's gained so much literary acclaim even though it has no literary value. It was written by a stay-at-home mom who had a dream and it successfully competes with novels written by hardworking english majors. I personally loved the series but do not consider them comparable to actual novels that i read because the series ended up becoming a fanfic fest. I felt that in an effort to please readers, Meyer might have just did what her fans wanted rather than write her story how she felt it like other "legitimate" writers would. That seems like a big problem to me in a novel and seems more suited to manga.

Old vampires are better because the vampires in twilight are just boring.Edward can go outside but not where there is sun (and people) his skin glows/sparkles

Twilight reminds me of Harry Potter.Overrated and suckish.I didn't read the novel (yeah, this is ammo for the Twifans) but I watched the movie, and I didn't like it. The plot.. I read the synopsis. The first book wasn't too bad, the second got lamer, and the third was stretching it. The rest.. I don't have to explain, do I? :gs:

Hi. For those who are thinking "WTH is Twilight?", it is a book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. But not a sun-hating, "Vlahh!"ing vampire. A sunsafe, normal talking one. Now, vampires are usually portrayed as having retractable fangs , an insatable hunger for blood and a weakness for sunlight or stakes. However Twilight changed most (if not all) of this. Edward (main male character WHO IS A VAMPIRE) is allowed outside, has a normal look (barely) and normal voice. He and his clan (as opposed to owning a huge, empty castle) drink animal blood (as opposed to human blood, although they are able) and have strong piercing teeth rather than fangsNow, what happened to Dracula? the one who set the very foundation for vampires? Kids and teens don't read about him because he's either too scary or too old. The writer created these new ones for teens, and suddenly all vampire knowledge the teen or kid are wiped clean and replaced with Edward the teenage vampire's looks and "charm". We need old vampires back SOON!Well, that's my opinion, please share yours, but no posting here to cause trouble, or to threaten me, or place a curse on my soul ect.

I've never watched any of the movies but I've read the first two books. As a person whos read books her whole life, the book was very poorly written. The plot was full of a lot of cliches and was pretty tacky. Not a good read at all.

I've never read any of the books and have never watched any of the movies, but I know a little bit about the basic plot. The main theme itself involving love between a vampire and a girl and another addition with a werewolf just messes things up. I mean, love itself is a pretty complicated thing between humans, but now it's between a human and a fictional creature? A lot of people are going to think differently about what real love is if they take the Twilight series too seriously and that's going to distort their perception of the real world I think.

Do not get me started .-.I can write a whole article on why it fails but it would be waste of time - the angry responces of it's fan would make it worth it though-I will just mention the more important .-.Vampires do NOT sparkle .-.

i personally believe that twilight sucks. i mean it's about a girl that falls in love with a vampire and then pretty much makes him do everything for her.

Well, I can't actually make a perfectly informed opinion since I only read the first one and a half pages of the book. However, during that time I formed a very strong impression that this was a very overly-saturated, sparkly and terrible piece of purple prose, the likes of which are found mostly in bad fanfcition-- and I've read my fair share of those. I couldn't stomach reading any more, and was forced to put it down. The fact that Bella (the main heroine) has no backbone or personality whatsoever to do anything useful makes the story all the more like an author-insert, and Bella the Mary-Sue.So in summary, my opinion is that, Yes, Twilight does indeed suck.

While I will admit that the Twilight Saga isn't the best book series in the world, I do have to say that it holds a special place in my heart since it inspired me to attempt to write in first person again (and I actually succeeded). Yes, storyline and characters are overdone and it's given girls and even young women unrealistic expectations when it comes to romance. And even though it's "paranormal romance", even some of the "realistic" (such as things that do happen in everyday life such as school) don't seem realistic in the least. But at least the books are better than the movie!

I watched the first movie of twlight and i thought it was nothing special. Well i think it a little bit overrated because it not bad and it not good either. Girls are probably obessed with it becuase Edward is hot and so is jacob lol lol.

Honestly, I'd have to say that both the books and movie are seriously terrible. The movies aren't too great because of the acting and the lack of facial expressions. The scenes are kinda bland too.
