I think the movie is ok. Cheezy at times and really boring moments. like the atmosphere though. Edward Cullen, not to me, is highly influential to my sibling and some of my friends. Mood swings happened in 2009

Personally i didn't like it, i just can't see the movie as a vampire one. It's more like a story with some guys that just result to be vampires but it doesn't really matters. I prefer "Let the right one in".

It's pretty bad but the amount of hate and vitriol it gets is goddamn pathetic. I don't like Twilight and to make sure I don't get bugged by Twilight I don't read it, don't talk about it, and I damn sure don't go up to people that do like it and bug the crap out of them.

I think that Twilight the book isn't horrible. In fact, it's pretty good. However, the movie is just...no. Just no.

I'm with you on this one. The books are actually pretty good in the sense on how it can captivate the reader, IMO. However, like many others have mentioned, the movie is just not up at par. I'm not trying to be a hard critic, but it's just a disappointment with way too much hype and exposure.

Does it suck? Nah. Is it great? Nah. I'll admit that the writing could use a lot of work, but I enjoy it, it's a bit of a guilty pleasure.

i read the first half of the first book, and i gotta say... it was bad, like bad bad lol there were too many adjectives and not enough depth to the story. i mean if the only requirement for you to like a book is vampires, then this is the book for you, but if you want to read something worthwhile, i'd look in another direction lol

Edward is a fairy moron who should have stayed dead with harry potter 4. Also, the author ripped off the whole book from an online one. Vampires don't sparkle, and there's nothing any author can do to change that.

I've got to say, I detest Twilight for it's depiction of "vampires" along with it's writing. I refuse to actually refer to them as vampires and instead prefer "leeches with fangirls." Leeches at least are kind of shiny if the sun hits them right. And for the writing? Without reading one of the books, I was able to spoil the ending for one of my friends based merely on her description of how the last one ended.

I have never read the books and I have not seen the movies. I do know enough about the series to make a decision on it though. I think Twilight is a terrible series for a number of reasons. First off, there is the abstinence vampire issue. That isn't really that big of a deal since it brings something new to the table, but almost all vampire stories are full of sex or the vampires have a mysterious appeal. I suppose it applies here too, but just because Edward is sparkly doesn't make him attractive. It just makes him weird. Also, the vegetarian thing is a bit odd too. If you are a vampire, you can consume any type of blood, but human blood is preferred. How does abstaining from human blood make it so that your eyes are golden colored anyway? Isn't blood pretty much the same between species? Except for lobsters... they don't use iron in their blood, they use cobalt. I'm sure this is explained somehow, but I never read the books to find out. Then there is the powers thing. Edward can read minds, but can't read Bella's since she can create shields or something. In fact, she can do this before she becomes a vampire! What the hell? I suppose I can understand Edward being attracted to Bella just because of how good she smells, that's pheromones and stuff. It has a scientific basis. Being attracted to the smell of her blood makes it weird, but Edward is a vampire so that kind of makes sense. Though Bella worrying about growing old with Edward not aging is a bit stupid to me. She thinks that once she is old, she won't be attractive to Ed anymore, but that doesn't make sense. Obviously she is referring to her looking like a grandma and losing her looks, but Ed is attracted to the smell of her blood. As long as she has blood, she will be attractive to Ed. Why didn't she think of that, huh? Everything she thinks is stupid and superficial. Instead of trying to go to college and get a career in something rewarding, she is irritated by people that suggest it, and wants nothing more then to be a baby maker for her beau. She is willing to give up everything for some guy she has known for only a few weeks. Then there is the whole stalking thing. Ed follows her everywhere, makes sure she is "safe," screens her phone calls, monitors who her friends are and even watches her while she sleeps. Instead of being frightened or disturbed by finding this out, she is excited and happy. Then there are the times where she gets bruises due to Ed's super strength. She treasures them. What the hell?Even when she is courted by someone that isn't creepy and undead, Jacob Black I think his name is, she still pines for Ed. Ed loves Bella so much, he doesn't want anything to befall her. Basically, that is just padding for the story. Smeyers wanted to make the book go on for as long as possible. Ed could have made Bella a vampire right away, but he was too stubborn to do it. Then he moves away and Bella becomes a depressed lump of wasted human life. She sits in front of a window for months, doing nothing and screaming in her sleep. She probably brings her father to take up drinking. I mean he has to live with that every day. Then to display this blank period in her life, the author actually included 10 blank pages in the book. Ten of them. Then she finds that doing dangerous things makes her hallucinate that Ed is reprimanding her, so she takes up dangerous hobbies in an attempt to see him. It only cements my opinion that Bella Swan is a stupid person. Even though she wasn't popular in Arizona or wherever she came from, she is still able to befriend everyone in Forks, Washington with little effort. Even when she has been sulking for months and hasn't even acknowledged any of her "friends" for a long time, people still are willing to take it up where they left off, and not cut off ties with her.She meets this childhood friend of hers, the aforementioned Jacob, and he loves her too. I don't know how she did it. All I remember about Bella is that she is a vaguely human bundle of clumsiness. That is the only defining feature that I remember of her. Even then, I heard that the author only included the clumsiness to give her a superficial flaw. I mean, come on. If you don't have a connection with a guy that you have known for years who obviously is into you, then what hope does anyone have for a relationship? Not to mention the fact that Jacob protects Bella too. He even does it without leaving scars or bruises. Does she really care for Jacob though? I have no idea. She marries Ed in the end and she becomes a vampire. I don't know how deep her relationship with Jacob ran.The final thing I remember about the books is that Smeyers is just a bad writer. She uses the thesaurus to come up with stupid synonyms for plain words. What happened to the KISS style of writing? From what I remember, she is overly verbose and describes everything that is happening. I might be wrong about that, but the length of the books in general seems to support that view. I have read books that had over 1000 pages before, so that isn't a big deal, but this isn't a complicated story. Girl falls in love with vampire, vampire falls in love with girl, werewolf falls in love with girl, girl marries vampire and has babies. Then there is a lot of stuff in between those events, but there is too much of it.In conclusion, I think I know enough about the Twilight Saga to not have to read the books or see the movies. For all of the reasons above, this book series is awful. Avoid it if you can I guess.

I always thought vampires were cool as a kid and got conned into watching Twilight and all I can say is What the Heck?! First and foremost vampires are suppose to be powerful beings but with limitations (ie can't stand the sun, garlic, etc.) They can conquer the world, but they can't because of these weaknesses and thus must hide themselves from ordinary humans. The vampires in Twilight are powerful beings, but has no limitations, unless you want to count the fact they get all sparkly looking in the sunlight. How is that suppose to be a weakness? If you were that powerful and someone made fun of you, wouldn't you just beat the heck out of them? Second, what made vampires (ie the Bram Stoker kind) popular was because of their power and they were bad boys. The vampires in twilight weren't bad, they just sat around and sulked about not being able to fit in. Someone explain to me what makes that interesting.Yes I agree with Stephen King when he came right out and said he hated the series. Don't judge a book by the movie, but hearing how the plot from the movie matches the book's plot perfectly, I would skip the book entirely. If I had a choice about reading about vampires, I would read Bram Stoker or Guillermo del Toro who directed Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy came out with his own take on vampires in a book called The Strain. I would recommend del Toro's book over twilight any old day.Unfortunately though, we're seeing a glut of vampire movies because of twilight's popularity. I mean what's next..a remake of Once Bitten??

I hate Twilight so much! I mean seriously.. Vampyres sparkling in the sunlight? Wow, that's oh so scary. Sure, I liked the ideas of the werewolves but everything else was just messed up. Like in Eclipse.. Yeah I actually read them so I'm not one who just hates without even reading them. I really don't get why it's so popular. All of the girls at my school have all the t-shirts and etc. Monday they were like, "Omg did you see New Moon?" I thought they were going to sacrifice me when they heard my reply. And I'm a girl. :)

I used to be addicted to Twilight but, now I agree with those who say that Twilight sucks. It is not that I hate the movie but I had time to really evaluate the book and I concluded that the plot is a little bit of a cliché because the plot is like girl meets boy, girl attracted to boy, boy is a vampire, then the "forbidden" love begins. [I'm just talking about the first book]. I think that the book attracted it's fans because of Meyer's writing style and not the story.

I actually believe that the fans of this book do like the story. Many of them are just sad fantasizers who can't get a real taste of romance so they have to experience it through a crappy book. Crappy in the sense that the plot is pathetic (A falls in love with B, B falls in love with A, insert something along the lines of forbiddenness from Romeo and Juliet), character development is nonexistant (going from I'm not allowed to love you to I'm going to love you even at a risk does not count) and the lack of substance. Honestly, the book repeats itself 9230843092 times saying that our hero the Vampire guy is dashing but he is afraid that he can't control himself. Feel slightly guilty flaming the book completely so I'll say something good now :o. Favorite part of the book (not many choices) would probably have been the part where they go into the past and talk about how he came to be a vampire. Probably the only thing that is 'original' regardless of the fact that it was a bore. And on topic, yes, Twilight the book fails.
