FF12's system was new, innovative, didn't cause game lag, and when used properly can really enhance the gaming experience. I for one don't tend to use a lot of gambits, since I'm a very hands-on player. It's hard to keep track of gambits in boss battles though, so I'll usually set them before I get to a boss <3

Final Fantasy XII's engine was based on FFXI's, a mmo's engine should not be used for an offline game. FFXII is the only one of the series that I have not finished because I can't stand the engine that they used. I play FFXI and love the engine on it but the one in XII was utter garbage.

No, Final Fantasy 12 is even more monotonous than other Final Fantasy games since you cannot input commands to other characters and you simply reduce yourself to pressing x to attack like in Final Fantasy Crisis Core

No, I say heck no on the FFXII battle system. I hate that battle system more than any other battle system on any other game.

I'm all for new battle systems. Innovation is everything in games. Except sometimes you get absolute failures. :( But at least game companies are still trying new things.

I much prefer the older battle styles!I liked the way in X-2 there was a timer on turn taking, made sure you had to think fast, but not so fast you were reduced to just attack attack attack...

As long as the battle system works properly and is easy to pick up, I don't really care how they go about it. FFXII's was fun and interesting to use, but I'm not opposed to something new, and I am actually looking forward to what they end up doing.

I really don't mind which battle system they're going to use really--as long as it's nothing like X-2. With XII, you could set those gambits on and if you're really lazy, you can set it in a way where they can automatically train without you pressing any buttons--granted that might take some research on where to find the best spawn places.

Final Fantasy games after FF10 all seemed to go down hill in my opinion. They need to take a hint from Amano and go back to the old ATB system and start making games similar to how they use to be. :/Not trying to troll or anything, just my opinion.

Eh, It's a 50-50 thing in my opinion. FF12's battle system was interesting, good for some things but bad for others... like running away for example. I could never run away cleanly in that game :foldarms: But I think it was easier for attacking. I played mainly as Balthier and I would target/pick my attack and wait for it to be ready before advancing upon my target, therefore making sure my attack went off first and right away. The classic turn based battle system was good though too, and it made run aways very clean since it was a random encounter type deal. Either way, no matter what they choose the battle system should be decent, to say the least.

really i liked the way ff XII was i think yeah it is a little to much like an mmo but i think for the game it seemed to fit and made the battling more intresting

The main thing I don't like about 13's battle system is that it takes place on a different screen/plane than the overworld, which I feel is a big step back from XII. T

FF12's battle system was okay, but it wasn't the best yet. They should use FF8's battle system, the junction system was awesome.

I really didn't like Final Fantasy XII's battle system. I think that the one they've used since Final Fantasy V and onwards is the best system. Running around like in XII felt way too much like an online kind of game, like WoW (and yes I DO play WoW), and to me, that just isn't right for the Final Fantasy series.

Yeah, cause random encounters are really annoying. Except for 7, still the best of the series. Though I only played that, and 12.

It really depends on the style of the world it unfolds in. FF12 had massive areas that you could manage to use that battle sysem and the ambience was perfect for them, and also you never fought in the same place(in random battles you most got the same back ground in one area). So, if they go for a more strategic RPG style, they should go random battles, if they go for a more action oriented game, they should go for a FF12 based battle system.

No, in my opinion. I found it difficult to get used to the battle system in FFXII. They should try something different.
