um,may i ask which it is?for ruby sapphire emerald you have to go to one island and trade i think it's the same for firered.Go to Game faq.com or the cheatingdome for such doubts.i am doing very well in my emerald game.done with hoenn dex now i need to trade over a bulbasaur from a girl who i play as named Venus and evolve it, and then I'll be DONE.for event only-s, i traded with a guy who used cheats. easy but time consuming.i just need 1 more pokemon and im done for fire red with kanto and johto regiens i just dont know how to trade with fire red and emerald version

I've done it on my Ruby version 
It's been the originally file from the day of release, and I've owned every GBA game from G/S/C to Platinum. So I've been able to get every wild pokemon that way, and I've been to the events need to in order to get the impossible to get's like Mew and the like.

If you ever could complete it cheats would be a fundemental or a hack of a game like the hack that i have of pokemon emerald.

I did complete my blue version when i was younger. I caught all the pokemon i could on blue, then caught all the rest on yellow, traded with myself. I still had to have a few, so i traded with a friend of mine who had red, i completed it. I was soooo happy, when my dragonair finally evolved. I still have to get mew somehow.

I did it with Pokemon Blue, without using the unlimited masterball cheat. My whole school was into pokemon though so it was never hard to find someone to trade with, and my friend went to a nintendo event to get mew and I gave him 2 weeks worth of allowences for it.

pokedex is like the hardest thing to complete unless you are set out to complete it, you just give up half way through specially some of them needs to be trade to get them... =/

That was for me one of the most disappointed things of the pokemon series. They always comes in pairs so you need the two(or a friend with the other) to complete your pokedex. But my new pokemon games, i can't be bothered to "catch em all", so I just play for the fun and not for completing it. It isn't really necessary to complete it to have fun or feel accomplished.

From experience, it's next to impossible to complete the Pokedex without trading. Unless you have a lot of friends to trade with or you hack or cheat the game, it's near impossible to complete the Pokedex, mainly due to the fact that some pokemon are only found in different versions of a game, and it's impossible to get the other starters since you only have a choice of only 1 of the main starters.

I did on Blue and Gold and Silver. I did without cheats, except for the Event ones (Mew, Celibi)

I completed my pokedex on Blue, including Mew. I had one friend who I always battled and traded with. But back then, even with the complete 151, I thought there was still more. If any else remembers back in the day, all the rumors about the so callled "Pokegods." You had like mewthree, chrono mew, pikablue (which eventually became marill). And there was a bunch more. Like 4 evolution stages for all 3 starters, I know rainer was supposed to be Blastoise's evolution.

I completed red's pokedex through a mixture of no life and some tactical trading, i did one half my friend on blue did the other haf and we used my yellow to get the final starter done, and then i cheated to finnish saphires, i had all pokemon ever invented due to my amazing cheat cartrige, and i had soo may lvl 100's

well, the completition of the pokedex is mainly for people with enough patience for it lol, if i wanted i could finish it , but i really dont want to , cause then i have to find someone to trade me a special pokemon etc.. etc..

The only game where i did catch them all was pokemon silver. the only reason being that i got mew from my friend and celebii from my sister, otherwise i would have to cheat in order to get them all.

never did finish it i got close once back when i played red and blue (i had red a friend had blue) i got to like 146 pokemon i remeber that i needed like 4 from the "safari zone" god that took up alot of my time...still never finished it and since all the new ones have like 400 plus pokemon i basicly gave up after silver and gold =D

honestly, completing the pokedex is unbeleivably hard but i did it only once without cheating. it was back when red and blue first came out. of course it was the easiest one to complete because there werent as many pokemon as there are now but i can still say i did it. you just need both versions and a little persistance... some pokemon dont appear in the wild because they are exclusive tothe other version so to fill in gaps you can trade them in.Pokedex completion is one of the toughest things to do in all pokemon games. I was just wondering if anyone ever took the trouble to complete the pokedex in any game.Its extremely hard and next to impossible as some pokemon never appear in the wild. If anyone ever did complete the pokedex, i'd like to know how it was done.

I finished the Kanto dex with the help of my friend in Fire Red, but I have never finished the National Dex in any of the Fire Red/Leaf Green/Ruby/Emerald/etc. games... just impossible.

the pokedex completion was always the game win condition for me. I completed a few. I had cheats and I also happened to have two game boys so I never needed friends. and that is why my childhood was so lonely.
