+1 for Acerbatus. Wow, I was really hoping that one would take a bit longer lol. I'd post the proof screenshot myself, but I no longer own it, so if anyone wants a BONUS point feel free to hunt it down and post it at any point.Oh, and thanks for the edit Gimp. I would've thought you meant is the screen good not the name. Good call.RULES:

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years wasn't developed by Square. It was developed by Matrix Software and published by Square.Edit: Squaresoft was a brand name used by Square. If we go by that then Squaresoft didn't developed/published anything. That means the answer is the first Final Fantasy o.O

True, but not the answer I'm looking for. You were right to think it was a trick question though. Let me rephrase:Which is the first Final Fantasy not developed/published by Square-SOFT-? Not including re-releases.Hope that helps

lol i was thinking of putting this in my original answer as a possibility as well but was to lazy. anyways square became square enix in April 1, 2003. the first final fantasy that came out after that was Final Fantasy XII which was released in japan on March 16, 2006.Edit: If you want to count main series related games then it's Final Fantasy X-2 (the sequel to Final Fantasy X) released on March 13, 2003.Edit: ops my bad March is before April o.O . I should've known this cause my B-day is march 31 right before April fools :D . please ignore my first edit.

Well according to topic rules, this quiz covers the North American games. Also I had stated no remakes. Knowing this, I'll say that I get my info from GameFAQs and according to that site and the rules, no one's got it right just yet, but you're so damn close.

Bah In that case Final Fantasy II was released in North America on April 8, 2003. 7 days after they merged and became Square Enix.I guess i missed the part in the rules about answers needing to be in North America only.PS: all this info that i got is from WikiEdit: none of my answers were of re-released games. FFX2 is the sequel of FFX and FFIV: The After Years was FFIV's sequel.

+1 for TheGimp! FF11 was the first Final Fantasy released under SquareEnix. And I know no one had posted a remake, but I had mentioned that I get my stuff off GameFAQs and they listed Final Fantasy Origins as the first game, so I just wanted to clearly sum things up so no one guessed that. RULES:

Quite easy, I think.White magic is support and healing. Mostly for such as Cure and protect. Before time magic were set, it was also used for Haste and Slow.Black magic is for offensive power, mainly for elemental attack such as Fire and Blizzard to deal fire and such damage.Blue magic is the magic mimic, absorbing certain enemy abilities to be able to cast them back once learned.Red magic is half offensive, half support. Though it is not expert in either. It would have the basics of white magics such as cure, while on the other side will have the basic of black magics. Mainly for jack trade mages to cover both. Finally green magics, barely used on a few games were mainly used for buff and debuffs of allies and enemies with protect and sleep spells and the kind.Does that sound good enough?

I think its the long range materia which makes it so that your physical attacks are still 100% power even in the back row.
