Anyone else seeing a large lash out from the community at this game?I personally welcome this game into the the Metroid library. This is the way I had always thought Samus would be fighting against the evils of the universe. Down and dirty. =D

E3 realy out-did themselves this time! It's not from Samus' viewpiont like in Metroid Prime, which equals new awesome looking gameplay!(not that I didn't like Metroid Prime)

wow! im a fan of FPS games, but i never liked the visor look from the Prime series of metroid. i like being able to see with my peripherals :doom: <- kinda like that... anyway its seems mostly beat em up, with a hint of sniping meteor balls... a hard mix of genre to come by, and i think it will work excellently. the title sounds mysterious too. 'Other M'

Should I feel bad if I want everything to become ice cream?

Well it's by Team Ninja (or whatever is left of it after Itagaki left). I'm hoping it'll be good, and I'm pretty impressed by the trailer. Regardless of whether it'll be good or bad, its a definite buy for me, just because its Metroid (!!!!)

I'm so glad they're finally returning to traditional Metroid-style games. I can't honestly say I really cared for any of the Prime games, being that I'm not really an FPS fan. I cannot wait to see more of this, this one is easily my most anticipated Wii game right now (until that new Zelda for Wii is announced, of course :D)

I loved the prime series, but I'm glad it's getting back to more traditional now. Also, Samus talks in this game according to that bit in the end there.

this isn't just going traditional again it's also 3D if you saw the gameplay it shows samus jumping back to shoot in the background and also during bosses you play in 3D i hoped it was going to be released this year but whatever thats plain awesome

I was never actually a huge Metroid fan, but I am a little interesting in this project. Not having a total emotional connection with Samus, it doesn't really bother me that she has shorter hair and maybe even full dialogue, but I'll have to wait and see how it turns out. I'm still confused about it being split 1st/3rd person, though.

Looks pretty interesting, hopefully it's a long game at least with good puzzles like other Metroid games. As long as those traditional Metroid elements are there, graphics don't bother me...

None of the metroid games were long, maybe with the exception of Metroid Prime. I passed most of them in under four hours. But I, too, hope that this game will be long enough.

I enjoyed nearly every Metroid game there is, and this one looks amazing as well. The only problem I forsee is keeping the story in line with the other Metroid games, especially with games like Metroid: Fusion making it that much more confusing. I just hope it doesn't end up as convoluted and unexplained as the Legend of Zelda series.

I like it, though I'm not a long time fan or know that much about Metroid, just played Prime 3 and loved it. I like the brutal violence we're getting here.

The only problem I forsee is keeping the story in line with the other Metroid games, especially with games like Metroid: Fusion making it that much more confusing. The story of Other M takes place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion (Fusion is currently the last game chronologically). The guy who says "Any objections, lady?" is the CO that Samus was talking about in Fusion, Adam Malkovich. One scene in the trailer also shows the baby Metroid from Super Metroid saving Samus. So if you thought the story was convoluted it seems they're going to be patching it up and making it easier to understand by actually filling in a connection between the games. On to the topic itself. I think Other M looks absolutely awesome. It seems to shift between first person for most movement and exploration and it switches to third person so Samus can get off those wicked deathblows or scripted "Indiana Jones running away" sequences. Day one buy for sure.

Although it is important to keep up with a storyline, the new metroid game looks like it doesn't need to in order to be a sweet game. Very excited!!!

It looks like there's a lot of different gameplay types in it...I don't know how they're gonna pull that off

I might have to slide this to my 'maybe' list. I enjoy metroid, but the whole beat em up, assimilation to Street Fighter and the like theme to it has got me tearing my hair out.

I've only recently gotten into the Metroid series, but from what I've played (which is everything other than the Prime series), I've loved it. If this is anything like the games I couldn't get enough of before, then it's a must-have. Also, the continuity seems to be getting stronger and more defined with each new Metroid title, not more obscure and confusing, unlike Zelda. Part of the reason I enjoyed Fusion was its story-driven gameplay (I understand that put many people off it), and it looks like we'll see more of the same with Other M. I'm going to be watching this one closely.

At first I wasn't that impressed by this game. Then I looked at the videos a couple of times and began getting interested. I'm not a fan of the Ninja Gaiden series, but this game looks good. I'll have to check it out once it releases next year. It could even play like the God of War series.
