Well at E3 Shigeru Miyamoto one of the greatest game producer and designer in the whole industry, made an announcement that there will be a new zelda game coming for the wii at 2010. Here is the pic that he showed (only a concept art of the game):Posted Image

Will Link be, as Mr. Miyamoto pointed out regarding this image, without his trusty Master Sword? Perhaps not. Eagle-eyed Zelda fans have noticed that while Link himself is not carrying a sword in his hand in the picture, the ethereal female creature joining him in the images bears a remarkable resemblance to the classic Master Sword design. Below is a close-up collage of Link from Twilight Princess and Four Swords Adventures to compare the similarities

Where is the master sword ?

If the rumors are right on the connections being made, we now face even more questions than ever before: if Link has no sword and this fairy-like creature joining him us a substitute for the Master Sword, how could this possibly work in the intense battles that Link will surely face in his new quest? Is it possible that the next Zelda will not have traditional sword battles at all and instead this girl will somehow act as your offensive force? Or will she instead be a personification of the Master Sword, something that changes into a blade at will? Will she talk to Link on his journey, or are her eyes closed for a reason? And this being the first Zelda game made specifically and exclusively for the Wii, what could it be about a "living sword" that might inspire Nintendo to choose such an approach for taking full advantage of the Wii's motion controls?

So what do you guys think about the pic and the rumors?Link to the quotes and info http://wii.ign.com/a...2/992063p1.html

since when did link have around shield (idk it looks round to me)also, i think maybe the girl (which kinda looks like a zora from the previous game) has force based powers, but needs link to use it in order to work (psychic cutting perhaps?)

Meh, Zelda games have not been spectacular the last few years but they keep a quality margin. That's the good thing about Zelda games, they have always been a safe bet (except with the Nintendo CD system). Regarding the new Zelda game, I just hope it overcomes Twilight Princess because we all expected Twilight to be even better than OoT and just was enjoyable but not as memorable. As far as I know, the only game that will define if I will keep my faith on the new gaming is Final Fantasy XIII.

Well, whoever, or should I say, whatever she is, I doubt they'll take Master out of the game. If I recall correctly, every Zelda game had Master Sword or something that acted like one (e.g. Picori blade from MC).What I'm wondering is if Ganon is back or is there a completely new villain. How about this? Maybe it's not Ganon, and if there is no Ganon, there is no need for Master Sword. Different villain calls for different approach, I guess. So maybe she is the new "Master Sword" needed to defeat this new villain. Add to the fact that she has some deep connection with this new villain, and she ventures with Link for obvious reasons. Of course, this is just my speculation, and I missed out on the Zelda Wii coverage at E3, so don't flame me if some of my thoughts have already been mentioned.

Well I'm excited because its the first Zelda for the Wii! I've heard that a particular sport in Wii Sports Resort called "Swordplay" has this mode called adventure mode or something and fans have noticed that it felt like playing legend of Zelda. Miyamoto had stated that that mode is like a practice for the baseline of the new Zelda.Sorry if I wrote it in a confusing way... XD

That really does look like the Great Fairy from the Wind Waker series to me... still, it wouldn't be the first time in the series a weapon or item had a fairy or spirit in it. If it is a Living Master Sword, it wouldn't be too surprising really. There has to be SOMETHING in it that allows it to "choose" its wielder after all.Time will tell I guess.

Everyone says she looks like the Master Sword, but personally I don't see it...except for her color. Anyway, it looks to me like she might be used to cast spells or use as kind of a psychic weapon (maybe?).

Or she might act like the secondary character (i.e., like Navi, Tatl, Midna). Didn't anyone think of that as a possibility?

The girl looks extremely similar to the Fairy Queen in Zelda: Wind Waker (The one who gave you the fire and ice arrows). But I agree, chances are that she is somehow materialized into a sword-like shape. Maybe this is a direct sequel to TP? Or maybe a completely different game. All I know is that the artwork looks similar to that of TP, so maybe it's a sequel like MM was to OoT. Maybe the girl will be like Midna in a way.But isn't LoZ: Spirit Tracks coming out soon? Are they making another Zelda game at the same time as that one?

I heard a rumor that the new Zelda game is going to deviate from the typical save Hyrule from destruction storyline. As good as the series was, it would be nice to have a twist...

I was a little disappointed with twilight princess. The combo moves were interesting but it was a lot of the same. I hope the new Zelda will allow more sword moves utilizing the wiimote. A living master sword would also open up a lot of possibilities. I can't wait for more information.

I was a little disappointed with twilight princess. The combo moves were interesting but it was a lot of the same. Considering you used the nunchuk, i think it was limited in maneouverabilityAlso after having played Wind Waker (Eww... GCN Controllers...) I too was dissappointed in the 'innovation' of TPI hope the new Zelda will allow more sword moves utilizing the wiimote. I assume it will have the same technicalities aforementionedA living master sword would also open up a lot of possibilities. Yes. Yes it would. Something to bail you out of trouble would be handy. The hookshot can't do everythingI can't wait for more information. Can't speculation suffice? Wouldn't want to spoil the next adventure now?

I do hope that it is much more satiable than TP to my VG flavour blueprint.

Maybe it'll take the commanding systems from Wind Waker and use it there somehow?Or just use that person as a boat.
