Halo Confusion

So I am incredibly confused is Halo: ODST and Halo: Recon two completely different games running two different story lines or are they the same game?

what i know about. is there is a halo : ODST and a Halo:Reach. there supposed to come out in septemeber and sometime next year. i think there supposed to be based on earth for ODST and on the Spartan world for Reach =] hope this helps

So there is no more Halo: Recon and renaming it Halo: Reach? cause i've seen trailers for all 3 of them?

It is one game called "Halo 3: ODST" initially called "Halo 3:Recon" Halo 3:Reach is the sequel to ODST

one game is about master chief's story through the war and the other is about your everyday run of the mill soldier in the war

IM NOT TRYING TO FLAME TO GET ME FOR THIS MODS OK!!!!!.anyways well HALO: ODST is during halo 2 after in the city new mombasa after the covenant did a space jump in the city ODST soldiers were dropped into the city and when the jump happend it set off a shock wave witch pushed the soldiers and scatterd them. then brutes were dropped down onto the city and thats when the protagonist comes in a ODST soldier Orbital Drop Shock Trooper a rookie one you take his role to going in.Halo: Reach happens before HALO:Combat Evolved what happens is it takes action during the sparten project i belive i read the Halo: Fall of Reach book so im syched about it anyways Halo:reach takes place during proffesior halseys Sparten project to have a upper hand against the covenant the armor you see the sparten is after its created the mjolinor armor. you can expect to see master chief when he was a rookie before the rank Master chief the reason hes called sparten 117 is because he was the 117nth person to be selected for the sparten project. They took kids and trained them form a young age till they are about 18 or so and then Augment them so they can use the Mjolinor armor. Alot of the spartens died during the Augmentation.

Halo: Reach is the new game Bungie is working on there is still going to be halo:recon A.K.A Halo: ODST

If that above post was tl;dr, then here is the short version!Halo 3: Recon was renamed to Halo 3: ODST. So they are the same game. Halo 3: Reach had a sneak trailer shown at E3, and it is a prequel to Halo 1.
