Legalization of marijuana has its own issues in different countries. Leagalization of marijuana here in the Philippines would be useless due to the availability of marijuana in my country is so rampant that anyone (who has connection that is) can buy the stuff like candy.True this, hippies still rulez the street!

That's the reason why it should be legalized worldwide.... it takes the business from the criminal organizations who use drugs as a fund raiser for other criminal activities, and turns it into a fully regulated product.Think of it as chocolate:If chocolate is illegal, it's not going to stop people making/selling/buying/eating it... but because it's no longer regulated you have no guarantees that what you're eating is a)any good b)safe to eat c)hasn't been made through exploitation d)isn't funding more serious criminal activity.Which is worse; a few people sitting in their front room having a smoke (legally) while watching South Park before falling asleep, and paying some tax while they do it, or a few people sitting in their front room having a smoke (illegally) while watching South Park before falling asleep, and making gangsters rich while they do it?

i live in california its legal for medical purposes, one of my distant neighbors (guy in my neighborhood) grows it and its perfectly legal, the cops came over and smashed his plants though and they stake out his house, but he gives it away for free to those who need it and the cops cant do anything about other then to harass him and destroy his plants once in a while, i mean its legal in other countries already, and its no worse then alcohol so idk why they dont legalize it already.

I don't think it should be legalized. People always like to break the rules and I think marijuana is a relativly harmless way to do so. If we made it legal to smoke marijuana then more people might do crack or meth to rebel.

I think it's stupid to use it, and I'd never use it myself just like I don't use alcohol or tobacco. But I think the government wastes a ton of money trying to stop it, and I think they could make a ton of money taxing it if it was legal. So I say legalize it.

Yes, the goverment is wasting billions of dollars a year on a useless, neverending "war on drugs."---So many other countries have legalized weed, and have anything bad ever happend to them? No, it hasn't. Look at Amsterdam, you can smoke weed, shoot dope and have sex with 12 year olds, and has their society run amok? Nope, because Holland is one of the highest functioning countries on the planet, so saying that legalizing something as harmless as pot will lead to the "downfall of our society" is complete BS.I'm glad that even some people that do not somke weed see how asinine the drug laws are.

People will use it either way...so they government might as well makes some money off of it, eh?Personally, though, I don't really care either way, whether it's behind the scenes or out in front of our faces it'll be there. Also, a constant argument made to the legalization of "Hemp" is that you can make pants out of it...the problem being, said pants feel like burlap...and hemp is already grown and used in many things (suntan lotion, for one).

I kinda hate being a physiologist cause on this matter i stand on 2 places one that they should legalize it and let people smoke if thay want and not to if thay dont and two they need to keep it illegal due to the way people act while smoking it as it changes their whole being

What kind of problems? Don't throw in your blanketed statements unless you're going to elaborate.EDIT: Every weed thread, I bring up tons of points for the legalization of pot, and no one ever reads them, so I'm not gonna do it again this time. No use in trying to change any minds.

I would have to say legalize NOW! Like it was said earlier people are going to smoke it one way or another and it does not change your entire being like the Physiologist suggests. Like all things moderation is the key. If you go overboard and smoke all the time then yes it can be a danger but the same could be said for anything. Chocolate syrup for instance when taken in large quantities could cause heart failiure. It's not illeagal. Pot has been used by humans for centuries, the American Indians smoked it in their "peace pipes" it wasn't tobacco in those pipes I can tell you that. And I have the utmost respect for the American Indians they are probably one of the wisest races on the planet. I mean it cures Glacoma and reportedly some cancer patients claim it saved their lives. As to the hwole eating your brain point. I totaly don't agree. I have to say I do smoke it and I have a better memory then most of my freinds and even my parents (who are both very inellegent people). The only problem I see with leagalizing it is that it would envoke the biggest party of the century.

Well i have a very uhhh proper way to look at this topic and it is simple to follow God made grass man made beer who do you follow and even if you dont drink beer why would God have let something grow on his green earth that wasnt for our own benefit.

Amen and glory halleiluyah

I don't believe it should be legal, because its extremely harmful. I think that if you smoke it to much then you could start having amnesia.

It's blind, uninformed, idiotic, baseless opinions like that that make me have a strong dislike for people in general.Instead of throwing some worthless **** out there, why not try backing it up?

Amnesia? Where the hell did you hear that from?

It would raise so much more revenue for our country if it was legal. It's too big of a cash crop with many functions to it.... It's just stupid that it isn't legal.

I think we should legalize marijuana, just so that it becomes more widely available.

There's a reason Cigarettes are so dangerous.. Because they're legal! Tobacco itself is just as harmless a plant as marijuana.. But once legalized, it was taken hold off by massive corporation. And when it's sold in such mass, companies look into how to sell more.. So they put nicotene and other drugs in Cigarettes to make them addictive.. If marijuana was legalized it would suffer the same fate as cigarettes. It'd be sold in the form of packs, addictive substances would be added and companies would make it into a poison.. It's better with drug dealers, because then you know all you're getting is the weed in a little bag with no nicotene or scientifically developed substance to get you addicted.

i dont smoke but i believe it should be legalized because we would be spending a lot less money on our prison systems and if we taxed it, make a lot of money that could go to our schools, public services, ect. we should stop wasting all our time and money on people who just arent criminals. that would be an improvement on america.
