I would mix together Mario and Cloud (Final Fantasy VII). You'd have one heck of a red suit wearing, depressed, large sword welding, princess pursuing dude.

I would mix Sonic and Tails. I'd love to see how those two would come out, see how fast he can fly! o.OIf not that, Master Chief and Scorpion from MK. That would just be down right nuts.

Shadow and squall from the final fantasy series. Gun+sword+ninja stars+attack dog= You get hurt every time he comes after you in a battle.
