depends on how u c it, cuz the original zelda games were about a knight who saves a princess, classic storybut orcarina of time and a Link to the past got into the whole DESTINY and MASTER SWORD thing. But most things afterwords (majoras mask, seasons, ages) were about the same link afterwards, the majora followed orcarina while seasons an ages followed alink to the past. I think windwakers and mnish caps are either ripoffs or reincarnations of the original link, as foresaid, depends on how u c it. But i think the next zelda game is going to be totally random, like link looks the same, and hes still in hyrule, but unlike any "hyrule" zelda games, it doesnt even have anything to do with zelda

There are many different Links. Some Links from different games are the same (example: OOT + MM). Others are not.

Well its been all lost in translation....Basicly rumors are going around that its mostly the retelling of the same story but the only thing that is clear is the wind waker is the first in the zelda series and either the story are being translated wrong or its parrallel versions of linkRemember the Ocarana is the key too the time shift soo look for an explanation in TP

I thought they were the same character. I have no idea how the Link from Windwaker is related.

Wind Waker's Link is not the same Link as in the other games. If you pay attention to the story in the intro for Wind Waker, it talks about how the Legendary Hero didn't come to their aid when evil came about them. The island that WW Link (let's just call him that) was born on kinda takes the same principal as the Pokemon story (kinda), once the boys turn 10 or around there, they're clothed in green to resemble the Legendary Hero and are sent out on a quest to search for whatever or save their world. WW Link carries the Legendary Hero's blood in him, or something like that, that's how he becomes, and I use that term loosely, the Hero of Time/Legendary Hero/the "OMG WE'RE ALIVE" hero. Also, WW's story taking place 100 years after OoT does make sense, because there's no way that the whole land of Hyrule would be flooded drastically overnight, no matter how strong Ganon is. However, all the other games are all different adventures of our loveable hero himself.

It's been said from Nintendo that there's a different Link in each game aside from of course OoT and MM. So there kind of like reincarnations.

i always thought that it was the same kid but a different story each time, not one long story linking all the games together.

All the in-game information (i.e. cut scenes) definitely suggests that all the "Links" are different (with the exception of Majora's Mask, since it's the sequel to Ocarina of Time). They just happen to have the same name and end up in the same situations. It's likely that this was done simply to ensure continuity.

It says in Wind waker that when the main character will get to wear the clothes oc the "HERO OF TIME" when he becomes a man (whic I believe is 13) so that prove the the Link in OoT and WW are two different beings but have basically the same fate

The series is called the "Legend" of Zelda. The games are basically retellings of the same story, except for a few interconnected ones.

My personal theory is that they're descendants of each other. The Link of Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask is the first Hero of Time and at that point the Triforce was split into threes (you know the drill). From that point on it was fate for there to be three pieces of the triforce split into threes; the descendants of Link and Zelda would be destined to battle the cruel and sadistic reincarnations of the thief and wizard Ganon. The Link of Twilight Princess will be somehow related to OoT Link, and his adventure will lead up to Wind Waker, where his descendant, the WW Link, will destroy the Ganon that has again broken from his hold against Hyrule. After he is defeated Link and Zelda are sent to create a new Hyrule, and this is where I believe the original two come in. Think; many towns of Zelda 2 are named after OoT sages, and lands from the original are in Zelda 2, so they must take place after Wind Waker (or at least Ocarina). From there comes Link to the Past, where the striving to revive Ganon that takes place in Zelda 2 takes place through the demented wizard Agahnim, an unvoluntary reincarnation of the OoT's Ganondorf. Another Link is the protagonist here, and we also have a new Zelda. These are simply descendants of OoT Link and Zelda, who through destiny have been seperated from each other's life but remain together through their Triforce connection and the power of the Master Sword. They fight off Ganon again, and here we lie. So, based on my theories, the primary series ends (so far) with A Link to the Past. The Oracle and Four Swords games are spiritual retellings of the said "Legend of Zelda." Where Vaati comes into this, I don't know.

You guys need to read the Book of Mudora...it tells the stories of Link...so in short, after OoT (and MM) he lives in the forest for awhile, falls in love with saria but since he is NOT kokiri, he ages...so he leaves and trains at the Castle to be a knight, then him and zelda fall in love, get married, become king and queen, have about 3 kids (i cant remember the exact amount) and then die, their kids are named something else, then on of them gets married has a boy named link, then somewhere in the world at about the same time...a family has a daughter and they name her zelda (or a son named link and the royal family has a duaghter named zelda...i would have to look again) after the original princess, and then you can probably guess what happens from there. So, the "Legend" of zelda is actually about Zelda, but different people. did i answer your question? the person above me said the same thing, but i went more into detail about the Book of Mudora (yes its named after the book you use to get into some temple in i think zelda 3...cant remember)

they are all the same character just a diffrent story but they start at diffrent times

Wind Waker takes place 100 years after Ocarina of Time. So all the links are not the same. Unless link found the fountain of youth or something. =P

Remeber Link to figure out Time travel

I always say that the Links are all different. I mean if he just saved Hyrule, then why does he still only have three hearts? Hahaha. No, but really, I always imagined it was like a retold story every time. He's like... a legend or something and now there are like 500 stories that are told everywhere. I dunno though. I suppose it's whatever you want to be- And I really want to read this Book of Mudora...
