Yeah I'd have to say pokemon red version for Gameboy advance. So much bliss came from that game and pokemon continues to keep an awesome reputation. But I have bad memory so that MAY have not been the very first, but I'm roe of a modern gamer.

I spent years playing Age of Empires on an old PC, before switching to Pokemon Silver on my Gameboy. I never really had an NES myself, but always played the first Super Mario Bros with my neighbor.

The first video game I ever played was Tetris for the original Game Boy, the big boxy 4-AA battery beast, you know what I'm talking about. The Game Boy was my moms and I was only allowed to play on car trips, as a way to keep me quiet for the long hours. The first game that I really got into was Mario 64 for the N64. It belonged to my cousin, so I only got to play it for about a week, but during that time I got hooked and started to fall in love with video games. The opening theme still warms my heart, and Mario 64 DS was in fact the whole reason I bought a DS. The first video game that I ever bought was Duck Tales for the Game Boy. I spent all the change I had saved up for the first 8 years of my life to get that game. And the first video game that I was given and the first one that I spent a significant amount of time playing, and thus sucked me in to my current video game habits, was Pokémon Yellow. I had played friend's copies of Blue and Red, but Yellow was the first game I could call my own and I played that game for months and months. Ahhhhh, good times.

My first video game I played was Super Mario Bros. 1 when I was five years old. From memories I spent all my free time trying to get to world 8-4 and trying to beat Bowser. When I finally was able to beat him, a couple of years later, it really felt good.

Since I was born, I (and by extension my family) has pretty much owned the following generational systems:NESSNESN64Playstation 1, 2 and 3WiiGameboy, GBA, DSMy favorite games growing up were Mario Bros. 3 and Mario World, along with the Mega Man series. Mario was great for playing with siblings and Mega Man was an addictive robot game for when you were by yourself.

I grew up with the Atari. It's not that I'm that old, just that my family didn't have a lot of money and we were always behind the times on getting consoles. Still got to experience the whole growth of the console market thing though, and my friends always had the newer consoles.

Assuming everyone here began gaming some time before the PS2/GC/Xbox generation, what was your childhood like in regards to gaming? Your first console? First game to ever play? To beat? Game you and your friends spent the most time on?I didn't actually start gaming until I was older - I inherited my late uncle's SNES, Genesis, and GameBoy all at once, so I guess those are my first three platforms. Super Mario World was the first game I ever played and beat; my mom and I would play it together while I was out of school, and we would call her sister's husband when we got stuck. Remembering the days before strategy guides and online walkthoughs is making me nostalgic, but anyway...you?

On my Game boy Color.. I remember playing my brothers Red Version of Pokemon when I was like 10 or 11. I still have my Game boy Color, I have Game Boy Advanced, Game Boy Advanced SP, and Nintendo DS Lite

I don't know it this counts as a console but:I actually grew up playing games on a commodore 64.My all time favorite there was boulderdash.Ever since I have been searching in finding the exact version of that game on another platform, but so for no luck.A lot of games comes close, but not the original graphics or gameplay. It was until recently that I got a DSi, so I guess that doesn't count.

The games I grew up with were Bomberman, Super Mario, Battle City, Twin Bee, Road Fighter and Yie-Ar kung Fu on NES. Then when I started playing a Pokemon Yellow Version, I never stopped playing the whole game series! from 1999 and still playing! It's been 12 years of playing Pokemon for me now. :)
