Fire Emblem was a great series, Tactics were needed, and it was much more realistic. Not a lot of games kill a character off permanently when they die after all.

yeah, i like the realism of that, but it gets effin annoying when it happens repeatedly and you have to restart.

Well, that is for most people. Some people if they get "killed" just leave and never come back. They don't die (I believe Karel and Bartre are among a few).Fire Emblem was a great series, Tactics were needed, and it was much more realistic. Not a lot of games kill a character off permanently when they die after all.
Working on Knights in the Nightmare. Going to get around to Rondo of Swords. Hoping to find inspiration for Etrian.

well we are kinda biased... being that this is the official fire emblem thread.disclaimer aside, Fire emblem is the best game ive ever played. and ive played some great ones... 007 Golden Eye (for 64, not the crappy "sequel" for gc or ds.), Metroid Prime (1 and 2), and a bunch others...anyway, long story short, fire emblem is a great game!!

I'm playing fire emblem the sword of sealsand im not japanese lolsomebody was nice enough to make a translation patch, unluckily for me i do not know how to get past a level because i need to kill a specific person and the names were translated, so i dont know which onelol the price i pay i guess

Yes FIRE EMBLEM is an amazing game and i fell in love with it as soon as i started playing it...i want to play an english version of the one with roy but i cant find one...but all the fire emblem games absolutely rock!!

Fire Emblem and Advance wars were the reason I got a GBA - I didn't notice they were made by the same people.alphacrumb - where is that pic from?Fire Emblem was the first game to make my GBA an absolute necessity on the road. With all the games that came out in 2003 (including for the XBox and PS2 and PC, which I all have), Fire Emblem was my define favorite.Advanced Wars is great, too, but it was the story and characters and STYLE of Fire Emblem that kept me coming back for more, and it was a bittersweet when I finally finished the game.I read that a new (English) Fire Emblem is coming out for the Gamecube, as well as the GBA. Guess I'll have to go and pick up a GC now.

Fire emblem is a uniquik game and i think theyll make a lot more i really like the first it is best i played it so long one of my favorits so choses it first to paly!

Fire Emblem is a great Turn-Based Strategy game, but it'd be really fun if an anthology of the Japanese ones were released some day. Missing out on 6 games from that series isn't fun.

I'd love to play the full serie. I always wondered how they DID to witstand the pressure when us, US/CAN/FR People have heard about the ones missing...Or maybe are they dead by trying to ignore us... Lmao.. just kidding.Also, i think FE are the best tactics rpg i played. Even if the Fuuin No Tsurugi one... well... i'll try harder and finish it at once !

I definitely enjoy the Fire Emblem series, there are some issues I have with it, particularly the part where you absolutely cannot save mid-battle to save the asses of your characters, but other than that, it's quite an awesome series. I also believe the creators of Fire Emblem would most likely gain quite a lot of praise from their fan-base if they remade and ported the original games, from the third one, all the way up to number six. I, personally, would be greatly pleased if they did so, because relying on fan translations of the older games is rather tedious, you never know if they're translating it correctly, and it's very likely that the group will disappear off the face of the Earth after a while.

Yes. It is good. (In my opinion) do not play the eighth one, Sacred Stones, that game is too easy. Fuuin no Tsurugi and the Blazing Sword are much better. You could also play the SNES ones too of course. Four and five are both great.
