Did you ever take a pokémon in your group because you knew when they evolved they'd be fantastic and good?My most recent example was taking a slakoth from level 3 to evolve him into a vigoroth. It was painstaking to get through with every second turn being useless, but now he's the perfect annoyer with a healing, Sleep and encore :waaa:. Another example is taking a low level Ralts or Abra.So the question is, what pokémon do you take with you because you know they'll turn out well in the end?

I sat there for hours trying to find a Ralts in Pokemon Ruby, then transferred it to Diamond, and raised it into the perfect Gallade [Special Sweeper].

i took budew to roserade, gible to garchomp, shinx to luxray. budew wasn't that hard because absorb could easily knock out geodudes and onix's. gible i just gave the exp share to. and shinx was torture...

Magikarps turn into awesome, but they're kinda hard to train.

I stuck it out with the first flyer of each game, pidgey, hoothoot, tailow, and my favorite starly. They were always difficult to train at first but rock so hard after, evolving especially, Starly and Pidgey. Staraptor beats down everything with his close combat. Other than that magby for the magmortar.

whenever possible, I try to raise Caterpie into a Butterfree or a Wheedle into a Beedrill. Because, they have some decet attacks on them.

Well obviously there's Magikarp. There is also Dratini, Trapinch (any of the dragons, the 1st forms are never good) Larvitar, possibly, except you get one late in the games it appears in....there was Aron in Ruby, and also Abra in all of them, since it has no real attacks at first.

I'll say the obvious one- Magikarp. It is annoying until it evolves. Gyarados is really awesome.
