I tried going with xbox.com/support but that crap didn't help at all.Okay, so I recently moved into my girlfriends mom's house, just until school starts up again, and I am having trouble connecting to the internet. Their modem is downstairs, and they have a wireless router 'n such. The wirless router has a password on it. Now, I am trying to connect my 360 upstairs. I know I can't do it wirelessly, and last year I bought a modem for my apartment. Motorola SB5101. I don't know much else about their connection. Anyway, I got everything hooked up and the modem has green lights for everything. When I try to connect to XBL, it doesn't work. It says I can connect to the network, but I can't get connected to the internet.. Any help?

Your modem probably won't work due to the fact that your subscription to your Internet service is not accessible from her house. In order to get your 360 working from upstairs, you have a few choices:- If you can, pass a wire all the way from their router to your 360- Buy the 360's wireless dongle. It will help.- Buy either a Linksys gaming console wireless network adapter, or a wireless bridge, and set them up to connect to her router wirelessly, and plug a regular networking cable between the adapter or bridge with your 360.
