i don't think so, no.i would recommend to talk to people speaking the language you want to learn.that should be better than 1000 language games.

They kind of do and kind of don't....like I tried the french one with some background knowledge of the language back in high school classes, and there are are various grammar issues (if not a lot) in regards to stuff like formal and informal words as well as the feminine and masculine pronunciation of things, which can make you look like a fool if you mix them up (and make your sentence structure straight-up nonsensical) but I guess it's better than nothing.Like the person who posted before me said it's simply best to learn from one who knows the language rather than make various mistakes when trying to learn from scratch with these kind of games.

those games are fun to play and you may learn a few new words but there not useful if you want to learn a new language. just take a class or go on a holiday! holiday is even more fun

If anything, language games do best with memorization of vocabulary, and that's it. If you truly want to expand and gain fluency in a language, repetition in actual conversation would help better, wakarimasu ka?

It does help
but depending on it too much, may not be good
your mileage may vary.I'm studying japanese, and considering the rarity of japanese textbooks i couldn't find in my country, i'd say it does help a lot (particulary with DS).In conclusion, if you have the time and resources, try everyone's suggestion here ^^

don't go by it. it is a game and there is only 1 thing you can trust a game to do. Be playable. You don't know if they made up words or whatever right? if you want to learn a language then get some textbooks or something like that (don't go on internet because anybody can post on internet)

Ds game in other languages helps for me only to learn some basic words, but if you want to learn how to converse wth someone in that language, the ebst thing you can do is to learn it from other people or to take some lessons
