I heard it was a big improvement on the other games in the series, but I'm leery of movie games, so I'd probably rent it (if even that).

Not going to get it. Harry Potter games normally don't turn out very well. Most movie games don't turn out well EVER.

I've played most of the previous games in the Harry Potter series and none of them appeal to me at all. I think they're just bad games overall and I have the same expectations for this one. Honestly, they detract too much from the story just to increase the amount of gameplay. The only Harry Potter game I think will be any good will probably be the last due to the large amount of action involved, whereas the earlier games are all about attending school and nothing overly exciting gamewise would really happen until towards the end. The games just have too much filler and try to hard to cash in on a popular movie and book franchise
