People with tattoos tend to be less intelligent than the average perso. How many business tyconns do you see with sleeves? Exactly.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

I would like to see your reasoning for this statement. I personally have 2 tatoos and I am a college student with high grades, and I have a couple of friends with tattoos as well who are doing quite good in college. So I believe people shouldnt be judge by the ink on their skin, it does not make them any less intelligent or less capable of making something out of themselves

People with tattoos tend to be less intelligent than the average perso. How many business tyconns do you see with sleeves? Exactly.

More than just a moral should-not-judge, your statement in itself is not logical. Firstly, short of interrogating you, how many business tycoons have you seen? Just because someone is successful economically, or a boss of a multi-million dollar empire, does not mean he's more intelligent than the average person. After all, its takes more than just intelligence and book-smarts, to make one a successful businessman. Secondly, most of them wear formal attire on a daily basis (to work); so short of asking every suspected business tycoon whether he has a tattoo (when he is at work) or whether a tattooed person is a business tycoon - How many business tycoons do you see with sleeves?I feel that intelligence has nothing to do with getting a tattoo at all; rather I would think, one's nature/character, aspirations, inspirations and ideals are more likely to affect the odds of a person getting a tattoo. Just to disprove your point (on a personal note), I've four tattoos (although the most "obvious one is on my upper arm) and I'm a Government Scholar (i'm not sure how big is that in other countries, but in Singapore, its quite something). I've always been of the opinion that the view of tattoos reflecting hooliganism and rebellion and other synonyms, are well, out-moded and antediluvian. In this modern age, people often get tattoos as a form of expression (this is not to say, that people in the past did not do so also). I get my tattoos to show that in this temporal world, I've something permanent to wear on my skin (especially when most of my tattoos signify either the world around me or the people who I've loved, who have passed on). Its something of significance to me that its the one thing that I can choose, in this unpredictable and ever-changing world.Although I'm sure most of us have definitely seen one or two ridiculous tattoos (i saw a guy with a platter of breakfast eggs and ham tattooed onto his head), who are we to judge and say "gosh, that doesn't make any sense at all". Ultimately, it is someone's own skin. Just like haircuts or the decision to grow out a mustache, you have all the liberty to disagree or to deride; but you DO NOT get the choice or say in the decision whether someone gets it or not. Even more so, you should not judge a person for it (do you say someone is dumb for having an ugly haircut?).Till you understand the meaning of a tattoo, perhaps you should refrain for spewing illogical generalizations.

I don't judge people based on tatoos. What matters is not the outside appearance, but person's attitude and behavior--his inside apperance.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

I personally find tattoos disgusting and it really put a bad impression on others around you about you. And getting them removed is also very painful i use to have one on my wrist and it was terribly painful getting them removed. You also have to come in for sessions for a tattoo depending on its size. It makes people look like freaks and repels people away from you. but whatever floats your boat, i had one and got it removed so i wouldnt suggest getting one ever

I guess it cant be helped to be judged negatively but really, having a tattoo is a way of showing once feelings specially the once who are trying to showcase their love of art. It so just happen that a new canvas is born from a human skin but it is still a form of art. I myself got a tattoo and its inevitable for people to think that i'm dumb, good for nothing student but in fact i'm one of the students that actually excel in digital arts, animation and programming. So, its really not right to judge a person by the way they carry their selves.

I believe Tattoos shouldn't be stereotyped in a bad way, it really depends on what you have. It can come in different ways in cultural and religous types. Me for example I have a tattoo, which I received at the age of 16 where a chisel was used. And its very painful. Its part of my culture to get it in this way at this age as it proves me to be a man.

I completely support tattoos! But make sure you think it through and don't just rush out to get one. Find a design that you want and wait at least a couple months before you get it. If you still really want it by that time, then go for it! I'm hoping to get a tattoo over my left torso/rib cage area. I heard it's painful, but it's something I've wanted for a while.

I dont think a person should be judged by a tattoo. Tattoos are a way of life to some people. Tattoos allow people to be unique in their own special way. I dont care if a person has a full body tattoo or a little tiny tattoo on thier ankle, its all art that expresses the feelings people have. Dont judge people for them. its thier body. its their imagination. its their way of life.

The thing with tattoos is that invoking judgement in other people is the reason why people get them. It's the same principle as going to the tanning salon, or choosing clothes, or smoking. We want to harbor some sort of image about ourselves, so we try to stand out. Tattoos happen to be a great way of standing out, since the design is highly customizable. So in other words, there's no wrong in judging someone with tattoos, because that's basically what they want. Tattoos after all, are pointless if no one ever sees them.

It's funny, just the other day I saw a woman, with her hair shaped like a mohawk, black clothing with chains, and with many visible piercings, wearing tattoos just about everywhere on her body. With that description in mind one would think that, after seeing this picture, this woman would be tough and maybe even scary to approach. One might also think that she was in jail, or was part of a bike gang. When she spoke she had a very soft voice and seemed very shy - the total opposite of the stereotype one would be thinking of when seeing this woman. This just goes to show you that one cannot judge based on appearance. In addition to that, there are also cultural aspects to be considered as tattoos can be a symbol of respect. Tattoos are a symbol of power in certain areas of society. They can also be very personal to the individual (for example, the tattoo respresents a close person who has passed away), or they can just be a way for a person to look "cool" and "fit in" with their friends, or tattoos can be a way to cover up a person's own insecurity or to inflict self mutilation because of the insecurity. There is no single reason why a person wants a tattoo, and there is no right reason why a person should (or shouldn't) get one. It is not pointless in getting a tattoo if someone never sees it, if the tattoo is personal to the self (as noted above). There is no point in debating about if one looks beautiful with tattoos or not, as beauty is subjective to the person. Person number 1 thinks it is creepy, person number 2 thinks it's absolutely gorgeous, person number 3 doesn't care - which one is right? They all are. What is wrong is when there is discrimination against the person for having a tattoo.

I don;t have a tattoo and I don't really care if someone else have a tattoo or not, so in a general sense I don't judge people whether they have a tattoo or not.Conversely, if they have a gigantic tattoo, I think it's all fair game that we can make our own judgement because at this point, they are trying to make a statement for people to react. Just like clothings. If you take it to the extreme, of course people are going to judge you. And when I mean judge, that means forming an opinion, which can be good or bad.

Well, personally i judge based on a few things. one is if thy have a tatoo in WIDE open place, and the tatoos are ugly. TWO, If they tatooed it in an inapropriet place then goes showing it around JUST to show places not to be show to general public. THREE, if they are fat .>_<.If i were you, Try getting an interesting tatoo people will like, AND make sure you like it =D.If there isnt one that you like but the people like, just go for one taht you would like, don't be afraid to be yoursellf!!!...Also, if you are a girl.... all that I can say is giggety...becuase tatoos on girls are more... arrousing... then on males. Trust me, woman get all the good things.Sorry but I'm a new user still getting used to the things going on on DGEmu... :)

I say this becuase yesd, he is ABSOLUTLEY right, and thank you for helping someone who doesnt quite understand that you ALWAYS do one golden rule you should learn in kindercare... " Never judge a book by its cover" . All i wanted to say is that he proves the most excellent of points.

I, for one, have never stood something being painted or smeared on my skin, and I personally cannot see why someone would want to paint things on their skin. I do, however, understand that historically these tatoos have been a means of identification and one of self-expression (tribal cultures still tatoo their young boys as a rite of passage). But I think people living in modern society have other reasons for getting tatoos (I consider them wrong reasons), such as "It's cool / everybody has one / it's going to be my special thing / I'll never part with it because it's painted on me et al.). It certainly doesn't say "this person is smart", rather: "this person has not thought this thing through and has little or no respect for his own body; add to that an irreverence for social norms prevailing in his area (although, admittedly, society tolerates tatoos more and more".Personally, I wouldn't trust someone with a wide tatoo sprawling across his/her entire body to watch my children, and I wouldn't trust them to understand some of the more refined pleasures life has to offer. Naturally, were I in a position to decide the fate of people who fit the above description, I would carefully consider every care individually, but my experience dictates that these people have a seriously large mental gap and an equally large disinterest in filling it.

With tattoos it should go by how the constitution set up the right to nudity within comunities. Tattoos should be the general public area standard. If most of the population within a small city have a lot of tattoos then tattoos should be looked upon as normal. CONTEMPORARY COMMUNITY STANDARD. Its a good idea by the American Supreme Court.

I think that I don't judge the people with the tattoos, rather the tats themselves. I personally think they aren't bad if you get one with a meaning special to you. Sure if I see someone with like, a swastika or gang symbols or something, it might reflect poorly on them, but if it's something like what you're getting, then no. I think it's fine.

When it comes to tattoos you have to think of several differnt types of peoples perspectives.Like example if you were to go from the perspective of a religious nut who strongly belives in the bible and that says in there about your body being a temple and some people can misuse this fact and think that strongly means NO tattoos so your going to have those people telling you that you will most likely burn in h e double hockey sticks for doing such an act. However if you look at it through that perspective but in a differnt light people decorate a church do they not? Then why not honor god by decorating your own personal temple? Now theres also the perspective of people that find them disgusting/offensive. Which of course can be some times true example being would you parade around town with a tattoo of a naked man/woman showing that even young children can view?Or even tattoos with cuss words for that matter now I'm not saying that their "bad" because it is an expression of art but on vulgar tattoos atleast have it placed some where that can be easily coverd as to keep youngins from seeing it and keep parents from being offended. And then theres also tattoos that were last minute thinking tattoos that are so horribly wrong not in the fact that their vulgar but due to the fact that you thoght it looked cool at that moment example being my tattoo that I gave my self with a sewing needle/permanant ink (which I strongly reccomend you not to try that at home! or anywhere for that matter) It says fear the reaper well it is supposed to say don't fear the reaper but before I finnished I realized how disgusted I was with it by how big it was and how it was placed. So a strong reccomendation for anybody that gets a tattoo take a month to think it over and draw out plans longer/get several differnt versions/ideals on some thing from a skilled artist so you wont be thinking later on in life that you regret it.Now also on that note you also got to think on it the perspective of the people who have gotten tattoos before and later down in life weather it be 20-30-40-50 years later how much they wish they would not have gotten that tattoo years and years back.So to end my side of the debate I say to anybody one last time take time think things through and place the tattoo in the right place. Now for my side of the debate I may have no sources and such except my own brain. But however they are some common facts that you can see around life and common thought such as hideing vulgar/offencive tattoos.
