I'm an RPG freak, mixed with a little sport. And have introduced myself to the 360 this last year and a half. Before this, my consoles were PS2, Nes, Snes, GBA, PS1, Cube. Yes I've seen and played them all. And I admit, I miss that period. It seems after having played the last few RPGs to be had on the 360, and almost nothing on the PS3, I can only come to the conlusion that the thrill is gone. Oh granted, they have their playing value but let's not kid ourselves it's obvious that more thought is being given to graphics, then story and characters. The last few games I've played, Enchanted Arms, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean TLH I would say there's not one that would come close to my PS2 titles such as the Wild Arms serie, the Shadow Heart serie, Dragon Quest, FF serie, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Chronicle, Dark Cloud, Breath of Fire, just to name a few, let stand some of the PS1 classics which I won't even get into. Okay, sure, the graphics were terrible, but who ever looked at the graphics when we were playing Vagrant Story, Suikoden, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, The Legend of Dragoon. I have yet to play Tales of Vesperia and the coming PS3 title White Knight Chronicles, but in both cases I'm not holding my breath. Tales of Symphonia will be hard to beat or equal though I will play with an open mind, and what WKC will bring is anyone's guess considering PS3 has yet to make it's mark on their console. Perhaps you'll find me an old grump, the type saying in the old days things were better. However what ever which way you look at it, these new fangled games http://www.dgemu.com...tyle_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif have certainly lost something. Little connection to the charachters, and little depth in the stories.
