I've had R-Type on my MegaDrive2 for as long as I can remember now and it's still working nowBut I read on wikipedia that it's one of the hardest to beat games ever made, like 6th apparentlySeeming as I for one still havent managed to beat it I was wondering if anybody else hasAnd what's the furthest level you've got to if you havent?

I beat Super R-Type once. You know how gamers joke about blisters on their thumbs? That game very nearly did give me one.

impressive but from what i heard the original is by far the hardest, not surprising about the blisters tho P:I beat Super R-Type once. You know how gamers joke about blisters on their thumbs? That game very nearly did give me one.

I had some R-Type games on Gameboy, but between sucking at it and giving my brother his turn, I never beat it.

R-Type for the SNES was quite a rush in my youth. I never got into shooters much but the versatility with your "force" (the shield in front of your ship) and the charge shots made it a great intro for the series. Proud to say I conquered both R-Type and R-Type THIRD LIGHTNING for the SNES.
