books are so much better hen movies by a long shot for me. these days, directors realy do not get the concept of letting the watcher image it themselves while reading you can make it look like anything you want in your mind..

Reading the book. Many times the movies aren't as good as the books...like Twilight. When it's manga and anime, too, I prefer manga. I like original art styles; in anime, though they try to draw in the original style, sometimes it's not the same.

I prefer reading the rather than watching the mivie. Some important plotlines are often skipped in the movies, which I do not like, like in the Harry Potter series.

I consider the movie-version of a book to be a different movie altogether, like a fanfiction. You will always end up hating the movie because "It's not the book!" and that makes sense; they have to cut things to make it not be a 4 hour movie, and they need to take some liberties with it or it's essentially just an audio-book with pretty pictures.

Movies are really fun with people especially in movie theaters (IMAX!!!). But books are more quiet and personal. Both are fun but I prefer "seeing" stories play out in my head rather than actually watching them on film.

watching the movie instead of reading the book is easier and faster but there is usually more content in the book than in the movie

It depends on the genre. Action thriller work well in movies because you can see the kickassery but those intellectual puzzles work best in a book where you can read peoples thoughts and go back over material which confuses you the first time around.

Easily watching as it gives you a more detailed outlook of the movie itself. I cant create a storyline in my head from reading the book itself, harry potter is the prime example

books are better. But if you aren't all that interested in the topic and you want easy entertainment movies are very convenient.

the book is usually better than the movie but there are some things that are just so much better when seen on a screen with sound.

I like doing both but I'd prefer to read the book because I can put my own twist on it and put myself in the protagonist's shoes...makes it so much more interesting to read ^^

All depends in which media it comes out first. Books are usually better than a film made after, likewise the other way round...

I'm a reader. Have been and will be 'til my last breath, I daresay. With that in mind, book first. ALWAYS.HOWEVER, I can enjoy "literary movies" frequently enough on their own merits, especially if I can divorce my feelings about the book from those about the movie. SOME things about "book movies" irk me off when they change them TOO much from their sources, though.
