We got our 4-yr old daughter a ds for her birthday. She enjoys playing games but I'm having a hard time finding games that she is able to play. Anyone have suggestions? She isn't too into Dora or Diego (she thinks they are for babies) so I'm looking more for mainstream games that she could do (even if she isn't getting every aspect of the game). I would also love to hear what other parents have done for their kids in the past. Thanks!

How does your daughter feel about Disney? Namely, Ariel? There's a pretty nice title out that I think would suit her age range under the title of "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure" that I think she might really like. Also, if she's into Hannah Montana, if she can already read (or if you don't mind reading to her), there's 3 Hannah games out for the DS that you might like to try. Good luck!

My 4 year old boy has loved playing with my Nintendogs and has done since he was 3 - he is 'getting' whats going on much more now and is really loving it. he likes dogs anyway, so if shes a pet fan then go for it :-)

I agree with the Cooking Mama game. My girlfriend and I played it for hours. The Food Network is coming out with a game sort of like that but i'm not too sure if its coming out for DS.

My 5 year old cousin likes barbies and all that stuff. Maybe you can get her a few barbie games.

The 'I did it Mum' range of games are very good, my 3 & 5yr olds love those. Wonder Pets, Roary the Racing car, Postman Pat & a few other 'character' games are very good at the moment, my kids like the majority of those. Also, as has been said before, cooking mama & nintendogs are good.

I have a 3 year old and a 4 your old cousin. I saw them one day having a lot of fun with Super Mario DS. But they were boys. Don't know how helpful that would be for your daughter. But Mario games are quite fun and a lot of kids do play it. Give it a go if you're really stuck for choice.

Sudoku is good; easy enough to start with little kids, and has other mini-games that should be fun for that age. Nintendogs, too.

Scribblenauts seems like a good children's game. It builds vocabulary and really encourages creative thinking.
