Is there any reward in getting trophies for the PS3 and Achievements for the 360 apart from showing off to your friends?I've never actually cared about the trophies but am i missing something?Who here collects trophies?

I suppose the point of it is to add replay value to the game. People want trophies simply because they are "trophies" and "achievements." And people will play games until they get most/all trophies.

I guess there isnt any incentatives for players to complete a game on its hardest difficulty if there were no trophies. I still do for FPS games on the PC though.

Trophies and Achievements are nothing more than simple rewards that add replay value and bragging rights, if you're into that sort of thing. I wouldn't really care either way if my games had them or not, though I admit it is nice hearing that "ding" when you get one without even realizing it. I'm not much of a trophy hunter though, I only ever got a platinum in burnout paradise, which anyone can attain effortlessly.I do think its kind of stupid though that some people get so addicted to these little rewards that they ignore games like Valkyria Chronicles for the lack of trophies. That's just really stupid.

You can't blame people. People just want that sense of accomplishment no matter how trivial it is.I do think its kind of stupid though that some people get so addicted to these little rewards that they ignore games like Valkyria Chronicles for the lack of trophies. That's just really stupid.

I love to collect trohpies. I've got 3 platinums for Fallout 3, Infamous and Batman Arkham Asylum. I find that the trophies keep me interested in playing a game more than once because I like games where I have a goal. I tried playing the Sims once but it bored me because theres no objective other than to live. You're not aiming for anything. With the trophy system, I find that I play games more if they have trophies rather than games that don't which is why I'm glad sony now has the rule that all PS3 releases must have trophies of some sort

I love collecting trophies there like little things you get just for completing things you normaly something you do in the game (fallout 3 for example)but i got to say it does look good on my profile lol... I wish they were worth somthing like the ones on the 360 the points add up alowing you to download stuff for free(well i think that's how it goes)... If only sony did that then i'd have more reason to care about spending my time getting most of them... Got better things to do lol

I collect trophys because to get them you have to challenge your self like in Halo 3 or in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

well its kinda of hard to rub it in your friends face cause they would say you where addicted, i guess its just to keep you playing.

I'm a bit of a completist. I like getting trophies just cuz they're there to be gotten...I feel kinda bad for someone who has OCD though.
