Complete Wii ISO Guide: Based on 4.0 users. This is a guide that will have the end result of allowing you to copy Wii games you have to a storage device or play games from them to your Wii. Hardware• A Nintendo Wii, preferably hooked up to the internet• An SD/MiniSD/MicroSD that can connect to the Wii AND your computer• A computer. It helps to have a large HDD and wireless connection• A game to copy. For this example, we will use Wii Sports• A spare USB of at least 8GB. Most games are less than 4, but something as great as Super Smash Bros. Brawl is 6.92GB. You may choose to use the whole of a 16GB usb drive OR a hard drive (e.g. 128 GB) that is partitioned. It will need to be dedicated, and for this example will need to be WBFS formatted. IMPORTANT AND ABSOLUTE.As for software, I will introduce it as we move along. All download links will be in order at the very end of the guide.Installing Bannerbomb
First I want explain something. When the Wii updated to 3.3, an ‘exploit’ of forms known as the ‘Trucha Bug’ was used to hack the IOS’. Since then Nintendo resolved the Trucha Bug ‘problem’ (for who? Us or them?) and so is the reason why many people who attempted to hack encounter ERROR (-2011) while installing rev10. Let’s solve that, shall we?Installing Trucha Bug Restorer
Installing IOS249, or cIOS rev10
Utilising the Configurable USB Loader
Now to explain a little about WBFS formatting. The computer can’t read a WBFS formatted drive, and a Wii can’t read without it. The WBFS Manager acts as a medium between the WBFS format and the computer. The drive or partition you use will ultimately be 100% WBFS, so Windows will probably ask you if you want to format the drive everytime you insert it.Formatting the designated drive with WBFS• Very simple. Install and enter WBFS Manager. Choose your drive and press format. Your computer won’t recognise what’s in there and way want to format the drive. All ISO images in this drive will be detected and so you can play and copy. Now that is done, let us turn our attention to making the ISO image as upload material. I think for ease of use I will teach you peazip. This will allow you to partition the ISO image into 7zip format, thus we can share our hardwork with each other.Using Peazip
I know I had another program, but Peazip allows custom size, so in essence it was more convienient than my last program. Now for all the downloads.
NB: If link doesn't appear, I'm still adding the link. And finally, the Kudos!Sir VG: WBFS Manager, cIOS rev10, Bannerbomb, Loadmii, HB Browser, General HBC helpHackerX: Peazip, CFG USBLoader, Parted Magic, Very helpful in helping me with ‘The Process’GBATemp guy who made the NBG: Trucha Bug Restorer, 4.0 Updater, absolutely great guide to generic hacking for beginners. You really must see. Finally, ME! For making this guide which is compiled from many, many hours of guide reading and brain implosions that recover miraculously. Thanks for reading and hope it helps you in your illegal endeavours :P

Here's what I've used to dump discs. I don't know if this is what Hackerx is using.http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3H985YXRDownload and run it via any homebrew method. It's setup with the stuff to work in Homebrew Channel fine. If you need to know how to do that, read the Wii Homebrew/Emulation forum.I haven't run it in a while, but I remember this being pretty straight forward.

okay. i downloaded the DVD Dumper and it appears in homebrew, but everytime i use it, it returns to the homebrew menu immediately. With the other two programs (homebrew browser and wad manager 1.3 or something) they go into a separate menu, which isn't the case for DVD Dumper. can you possibly provide a tutorial of sorts?

Do you have a USB hard drive or a USB flash drive that holds at least 8 or 16 gig?

well, i have two 4GB usb drives, one of which is my DS/Wii MicroSD. but if you prefer it to be one drive, then i could always use my portable hard drive 320GB... (why 320 i have no idea. you'd think they'd stick to 128 -> 256 -> 512 like they did with MB hard drives. Surely it doesn't screw up binary codes just slightly now and then)

5 64 MB platters = 320MB.

How difficult this will be depends on rather you want use the whole drive or just a small part of it. If you want to use the whole drive you can just reformat the whole drive. If you only want to use part of the drive you need to repartition it and format the new partition.http://wiki.gbatemp....e=WBFS_ManagersPick a WBFS manager. You may have to try a few before you decide on which one you like the best. They all can copy files to or from a drive but they look a little different and may have extra optional features.http://gbatemp.net/i...howtopic=147638That is the USB loader that will let you easily play games from a drive as well as letting you dump games to a drive with great ease. You pretty much just press + and then A and wait while it copies. You do need HBC and a cIOS installed to use this. http://partedmagic.com/That is a bootable CD you can use to repartition the drive if you only want to use part of the drive for Wii games instead of all of it. If you want to use the entire USB drive for the Wii you don't need this.Assuming you haven't previously set up your Wii for homebrew you will need to install the homebrew channel and a custom IOS.http://bootmii.org/download/That will let you install the HBC and using it you can install a cIOS.http://www.mediafire.com/?mmzmjlwmxybThat is the cIOS most people seem to be suggesting now. I have been using a different one but the site for it is down so I can't link it right now.The only "downside" to dumping games this way is it doesn't include the update partition. But since most people don't want to update their Wiis from a disc and this helps prevent Wiis from accidentally being bricked I don't see it as an issue.

okay it seems to work great HackerX. I'm still trying to figure out how to put stuff onto the internet. I tried setting up a website but the concept fell. So my only issue now is how to put the ISO onto a sharesite. I believe you said somewhere to Megaupload them.Once that last part is done, there should be PAL Wii Isos left right and centre.

I told you that once you had the software set up it was dead simple to rip the games.http://megaupload.com/Make a free account and you can upload files up to 1 gig in size. I split the files at 950 meg to be safe. There are other file sharing sites but MU is pretty reliable and other don't let you upload as large of files.I use Peazip to compress and split the files.http://peazip.sourceforge.net/You can split the files into smaller pieces if you need to but I like to keep them large so people don't have to download as many files separately. If you are using Peazip all you have to do it hit options and switch it from single volume to either one of the presets or custom size. I normally leave it set on 7zip for the compression format because it usually seems to give slightly better compression but you can also use rar or zip.

I think I have used that one before. I have used two or three different ones and I keep testing different ones as they advance.

Hmm, I think there is a way to install it as a wad but that requires more stuff installed before you can install it. The custom IOS are patched official ones so to get around legal issues the installer downloads the official one from the Nintendo servers and then applies the patches and installs it.Is there some reason your Wii can't connect to the internet?

EDIT: Wireless is back on. I had much fun on CoD online yesterday.Firstly, I installed Bannerbomb to get homebrew for the Wii. My version from memory is 4.0EIn the menu that has “Install Homebrew Channel”, “Install DVDx” and install something else, I installed Homebrew Channel and DVDx.Initially I had DVD Dumper as suggested by Sir VG, but it didn’t work.I have installed VBA GX so I can play VisualBoyAdvance on the Wii. (Why does Golden Sun work normally and GS:TLA run slower?...)From here I followed HackerX’s guide that he gave to me later in this thread.I have a WBFS (PrimX’s GUI WBFS) that looks like it works but i haven’t had an ISO to try it out with. I also have another one reserved in the event it doesn’t.I did not get a copy of Parted Magic or whatever, coz im using the whole drive for this. (Just gonna store it to my computer for storage)I already had another file separating type program which is more convienient to me rather than peazip, because i use it sometimes during my job and for my high school’ server.(Funny story that, I couldn’t wait to get away from school and now I work there :shifty:)So this is where the problem occurs. The configurable USB Loader. Every time I try to use it, it says I need cIOS 249 i think. So i downloaded Waninkoko’s cIOSrev10 (which should be cIOS249 or IOS38 or something like that) You have a choice to do WAD or net installation. I used net (coz i don’t have the WAD file, and even if i did, i wouldn’t be able to use it because last time i tried to utilise a WAD file i uhm... felled.)HackerX and Sir VG, suggestions for what I should do about the cIOS so I can use the USBLoader programs? Here’s what I have on my dedicated USB (NB: While im describing in detail you probably understand more than me, its just so i have better direction about what is wrong.)Root of SD:• Folder “apps”. (For homebrew applications)• Folder “bootmii”. (Bootmii)• Folder “vbagx”. (GBA emulator, only has 6 games though. Go Golden Sun!)• Elf File “boot.elf”. (I’m guessing it’s for Bannerbomb or Bootmii)• “installer.log” for BootmiiApps:• Homebrew Browser Folder: To access the Homebrew Browser• VBAGX: To play Golden Sun, LoZ and Pokemon Trading Card Game :P• Loadmii: A launcher for any program on the SD card, as well as USB’s and Gamecube Slots.• A readme txt. For the Homebrew Browser...Everything in the other folders (except for GBA/GBC roms/saves) are absolutely untouched.I have Cfg USBLoader (as suggested in HackerX’s guide) as well as Waninkoko’s Sd/USBLoader v1.5 on standby, as well as cIOS 222/223 and cIOS249 (rev10).I’ve already made a free account on MegaUpload (username: fls@DGEmu.com password: coltrane). Although the games aren’t there, you can take a look to see what I can initially provide once I get this cIOS thingy working! So, i’ll take suggestions from anyone about what to do at this stage.cIOS rev10 not working.it says to put the WAD file into the root of the [micro]SD and run wad installation.when it tries to install the cIOS it says something like "Installing Tickets... ERROR (-2011)"WHATS GOING ON?!

For cIOS rev10, you've downloaded IOS36-64-v1042.wad and put it on the root? Since you're on 4.0, I know 4.2 isn't the issue anyways.Otherwise, you can do a network installation since you have internet again. If you got the wrong WAD, you can try here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6xpehcrn

Personally, I don't like the ones above 10. They don't recognize my USB HDD and I have to go unplug it every time I wanna play. So I've stuck with rev10.

Have you tried 14? I've had no problems with it and it had a lot of bug fixes.

Yep. Won't recognize my HDD. The last version that recognized it was rev10. No idea why they won't though, but rev10 works, so yeah.

That is weird. I'm using the cheapest generic IDE enclosure I could find. In fact I have yet to find a drive that doesn't work with revision 14.

i figured out the problem i was having. i have been non stop copying games to my computer, and im about to send PAL Wii Sports onto my megaupload account. I'll also be making my first post in this thread a guide which may or may not be helpful (yes you guys get credits).also, how to i send my zip file to my megaupload account? it wont let me download their mega manager link, so im stuck with the slower alternative.

I tried reinstalling it again and suddenly it's working. Don't have any clue why it suddenly works now and didn't before. I also am using WiiFlow for my loading program. Kinda nice.

You can either use the MegaManager like hackerx (requires and account) or simply use their web interface (make sure not to close your browser, or else, you have to restart)Once you launch the upload, wait until it's done, then take the links provided and post them up here! And yes, MU destroys the link uploaded if no activity occurs for 90 days on a file.
