I didn't know if this would be powerful enough to be in the debates section. As water sources slowly dwindle, we find ourselves needing to conserve water. Though we are supposed to shower everyday, we know this can't continue to happen should I don't know something like global warming progress harshly. The cost on water will only continue to rise, so I'd like to know, would you give up just one day of showering a week, or is it all too much?

Should I feel bad if I want everything to become ice cream?

Twice a week . . . you are dirty XD I enjoy showers too much to stop them unless like the entire world was suffering from severe drought or somethin'

That guy nobody likes

?Oh wait, on-topic, yesyesyes: No.I doubt water will ever be that scarce. Reduce water usage? Well, alright. Use less water per bath? Yeah, I guess so, if things really require it. Ration water per household, even? If things come to a head, we all have no choice isn't it?But I don't think we'll come to a point where totally not bathing one day each week (or so) will really be the best solution to a water crisis, anytime soon.

Molh pretty much said it.I don't think we should run into such a water crisis anytime soon. And if we did, then I'd be long and dead by then. :)Call me callous, but hey, that's life.

If I had a good water heater then maybe i'd have sink washes every other day rather than shower... but as the water is always cold in my house I'll stick to the shower ;-)Having a shower wakes me up everyday I dont think water conservation is a big enough issue at the moment... not compared to energy saving

Sure would. I already have to, since we've been in a drought in this part of California. So it's pretty typical for me to skip every other day, sometimes skip 2 days at a time if I haven't done anything to get particularly dirty from.

I think global warming is a myth and eventually if there is so little water that you can't shower then they will invent more ways to recycle shower water so there is less waste.

It all depends on what if I have anything to do. If i'm just going to be sitting around all day doing nothing at all on a day off then I may not shower for that day. But I will if i have something to do. I can see a water shortage sometime in the future, i'm sure it will become horribly priced like oil.

Uhm... I'm showering only every second day :shifty: Am I now a dirty person? Well therefor I have no allergies which are presumably caused by overdoing it with hygiene

Yes. But I can stand only one day without showering. Any more days would be torture.

Showering is my way of clearing my head and relaxing. We need to find a way of spreading the rainfall evenly between all the places in the world. Some get too much, some get too little. Why can't we just share it?

generally speaking, unless you are actually DIRTY, it's not good for your skin and hair to shower every day. i'm not sure where this trend got started, but whatever. it's just like washing your hair more than once per shower. some people follow the "lather, rinse, repeat" thing literally.also, we're not really short on water. the surface of the earth is over 70% water. it just needs to be utilized more efficiently.

Probably P: If I'm just going to laze around and read and watch TV, then yeah I could possibly go a day without showering. But I wouldn't go any longer- that's gross =X

As much as I keep insisting on greener choices, I can't bring myself to skip a day of showering. It just makes me feel very dirty, and I'm a "neat and clean" person, moreso than I am a "green" person. It's not that bad though, I guess I can rationalise that there's a limit to the amount of sacrifice I make for the environment. Besides, showering is already a whole lot more friendly to the environment than baths, and I also pratice proper shower habits (like not leaving the water on while shampooing or soaping up), so it's already better than most people I know.
