Anyone ever have the pleasure of playing the Panasonic 3DO in it's prime?

Certainly an overlooked system with a basic nintendo style controller that was put out before the playstation with quite in-depth titles like the infamous Star Control series, Off-road (out of this world) titles far beyond the original 2D quality of the nintendo and SNES. Using the overall gameplay of a controller with less buttons than the SNES, yet so entertaining with various expansions and debug systems even installed on a systems input controller if you were able to get one. Games like The Horde, a turn-based, guard the town with a sword, slayer/hero game served a long time favorite by fans like me. Hard to get ahold of but always fun alongside legendary titles like the original Gex before he "Entered the Gecko" on the N64, using side-scrolling graphics, this platformer had sure detailed greatness for its debut after 1995 lasting the system through the many years of releasing under the radar games until 1999. Feel free to share any experiences with this classic system and as always- Keep Gaming.

I didn't get the 3DO as a kid as I had never heard of it and probably wouldn't have gotten it due to it's price when it was new in the store, but now that it is quite cheap I have started up a small collection for it. While I played Gex on Playstation before, it is nice to try it the way it was originally made. What I enjoy even more is the tactical RPG called Guardian War. The 3DO has four other RPGS for it and I hope to get those. I have also tried the port of Street Fighter II Turbo and it looks much better than any other home console port of the game.I have two models of the system. The Panasonic FZ-1 and the Panasonic FZ-10. I like the FZ-10 because it is a top loader and seems to have an easier time reading discs (even scratched ones). It also has a system battery for saving like the Sega Saturn did, which is convenient. I think the FZ-1 had one too, but it wasn't accessible in the startup menu like the FZ-10's was. While I am not a fan of FMV games, I do keep an eye out for the good action games that exist for the system.

Never owned one, never regretted it. Not to say I enjoyed the 3DO though. It's where I was able to play and saw for the first time an anime game that has anime cut scenes (Uh yeah, we get excited about this feature at this time). The game is yu yu hakusho which became our countries most famous and iconic anime (after voltes V and before naruto). Thank god the snes rental shop got a 3DO. Expensive per hour, but well worth the PESO.
