I'd say HELL NO! If Mayans' (or whatever) calender ended on 2012,it doesn't mean anything, because if they were so clever and great,they would still exist themselves. Hehe,anyway this isn't the first prediction,or anything,so I'd rather live happy and chilled,than scared to die and saaaad...

No I haven't watched the stupid film and I don't plan to watch it.However, there is one thing I do think about. This world does have the potential to go anytime soon. With all the nuclear weapons that countries now possess, all it takes is a few orders to launch some 100s and 1000s of megatons of nuclear weapons and that could be about the end of it. So yes the world could go in 2012. But it could go in 2013 or 2011 or 2150 or whenever. So to conclude, I don't believe in this Mayan theory or calendar or whatever it is.

XRaphaelX already sorta mentioned it, but I don't think the world's gonna end in 2012. Why? Because there is nothing that could happen within the next few years that could cause the earth to magically POOF go away! Things take time to form and we would have noticed if something was getting suspicious.Also, and I should have addressed this earlier, but the Mayan calendar isn't necessarily in line with OUR calendar. Many things have happened to the calendar throughout time that weren't necessarily reflected in our current perception of time. For example, remember when King Louis something or other banished Sundays? Yeah, little things like that have screwed up the calendar over the centuries, which could throw the Mayan calendar WAYYYY off.It just ain't gonna happen.

Honestly.. I highly doubt the world is going to end at 2012. Nothing happened at 2000, it's the same over reacting we get when something comes up.

Yeah... however, some scientists do think that 2012 will be the time when we can no longer reverse global warming. Which is why we must try and do something about it now. Else, many species unable to adapt to higher temperatures will die and eventually... us, but that's their theory, and according to the same the world will end around 2064 at the most.I'd like to believe that it's gonna end around 6400... but that's just me. If we seriously don't do anything about global warming though, Natural disasters like Tornados, Hurricanes/Typhoons, Super flood, Super drought and Flying Cockroaches will occur more often. Can't stop the Earth from moving though, so we really can't do much about Earthquakes other than be prepared. But, if we can help reduce global warming, then we lessen the likeliness of weather-related natural disasters happening... I hope.STOP GLOBAL WARMING!!

Yeah, they don't have actual proof, that's why it's just theories. Then again you don't have proof that Earth will be destroyed soon either and neither do I, but one thing I can prove is that if we don't stop global warming, we can say goodbye to many species of animals. I dunno about you, but I'm helping to stop it as much as I can. Recycle stuff. Use the car less often; Walk/Bike moar. Use water less often or reuse the same water twice, like use the water, you used to take bath, for flushing the toilet, as so on. There are many ways to save the earth and many ways to destroy it. Either way, it's the only home we got.

I don't think it's is going to happen because us humans havn't done anything bad yet so we shall get punished.

It is just a movie, but still you can't argue with the fact that the more we harm the environment, the more likely it is that all that harm will eventually come back to haunt us one day. THE SIGNS ARE EVERYWHERE:1) Hotter Temperatures2) Melting Glaciers (Which increase the sea level)3) Fires happen more often4) Weather is more erraticIf the Earth dies, we die. Help the earth, and we survive.

Personally I dont think the question is "Will the earth end on 2012?" or even "Are they SERIOUS about this stuff?"No. I think the REAL question is "What will the NEXT doomsday date be?"So no I dont believe it. I could go through why but I think the other posters did a good enough job.
