I, at first used to believe it. I worry over it, then I had this idea to go to wikipedia. I researched a little; it seems even the Modern Mayans say 2012 has nothing to do with the world acopalypse. Also, there are many other theories about 2012 anyway. For example, evolution. But why does the year 2012 has anything to do with any of this? The answer:Human's imagination. They suppose 2012 is a unique year, then start spreading rumours, based on the Mayan calendar. The rumour spreads; making more people in it. If there are so many people beliving in this, who knows, God may even carry it out because of OUR very beliefs! So, people, do everyone a favour and stop thinking about dying. Because your thoughts can come to life.PS: I believe the Mayan Calendar ends suddenly is because the lazy dude probably gave up on doing it.

If something has "mostly" ended then by definition it hasn't.

Yeah... you can stop thinking about it, but you can't evade death. Also, I agree with you that 2012 is not the end. I think though that it might be the point where climate change become irreversible, I'm not sure but I heard some guy a while back said that he saw scientific proof and I quoted him. Anyway, It's not going to end in 2012, but the end will come. Most likely in the form of us not taking care of the environment.Think about it. WE DEPEND ON NATURE FOR EVERYTHING. Sure we have artificial stuff but most of our ideas came from Nature first. Fighter planes = Eagles, Falcons and Raptors. Tanks = Turtles + Our own innovations. A building in Africa is based on an African Termite Mound AND it actually has no air conditioning but is very cool simply because of ventilation, like the termites.If we destroy Nature, we destroy ourselves. We can't stop climate change, but we can certainly SLOW IT DOWN.... for now, at least til our scientists come up with a way to fix our mistakes.

No one knows when it will end. But, we do know that it will end. Oh, and by the way I think your avatar is cute!

Finalage makes his rare appearance.I of course, am not a believer of the date 2012. Many scholars claim that the 2012 hype is a misconception of the Mayan calendar, or at least, they used to, those people are quiet now. Anywho, they claimed that instead of the world ending there, the Mayans predicted a grand change, almost of evolution like proportions, like shinichilee claimed...as for him being lazy, why is ending the calendar thousands of years in the future lazy? We normally only plan about a month or maybe two in the future ourselves, at most two years or so... we should be the lazy ones. Perhaps he thought we wouldn't need it any more after that and hi ho, he would have been right. Not that I believe in that either, but I'm just pointing something out. Historical records say that Newton believed the world would end in 2060, the man was a biblical scholar in hiding, much to the embarrassment of many scientists. Yet I don't really believe in this either. What I think it similar to peteian above me. There really is no set date for the end of the world, but it most likely is coming soon, and because of our own mistreatment of the world, or because our molten core is about to go solid, destroying our protective magnetic field so our atmosphere can be raked and stripped by the sun's ultraviolet rays, or some unavoidable meteor slamming into us, or even because the Andromeda galaxy is on a crash course with the milky way...hey, even the sun will expand and probably either swallow us whole or roast us alive...if we escape, the whole place freezes over anyway. One way or anther the world is going to end, it's inevitable, nothing lasts forever. When or how matters little to me.Snow. Snow will heal it. That and rain, get all that stuff on the ground so we can neutralize the stuff. Speaking of which, I have around twenty six inches of the stuff I'm currently dealing with, but that's off topic.

Hey guys, I just got some information. I heard about another calendar based on the cycle of the moon I think, anyway this Lunar Calendar is only on the year 1451, while we are at 2010. So maybe, is it possible that 2012 may not happen on OUR Calendar, but may happen on the 2012 of this Lunar calendar instead? I mean, think about it. Nostradamus never mentioned on WHAT calendar his 2012 would happen. If it is the Lunar calendar, then 2012 is 600 or so years away from now.

^ If you honestly believe that the world is going to end in 2012, according to any calendar, then you're an idiot. Sorry to break it to you. The Mayans didn't have this "ancient wisdom" that some people seem to think they had; it's just a bunch of conspiracy theorists and other breeds of idiots who buy into that. If the Mayans were so smart, how come they couldn't come up with even basic medicine?Also, Nostradamus' "predictions" are extremely broad and therefore VERY open to interpretation. People see what they want to see out of stuff like that.
