As I get the Official Nintendo Magazine in the latest issue it says about the DSi XL / LL which is just a bigger version of the DSi with 4.2" screens but the screen resolution is the same. Would this mean that the screens would be pixelated as the resolution is the same as in the current DSi and if so how badly would it be? I am considering pre-ordering one of these or getting one when they are released but not if you think that the screens will be pixelated and not as good as the current DSi.Here is some info on the DSi XL / LL if you are interested in ithttp://www.joystiq.c...l-faq-sized-up/Thanks for any advice

I'm pretty sure the game resolution WOULD be pixelated, but very slightly(You won't see much of a difference until you look closely), but even so it won't be much of a difference as just increasing the window of your emulator(saying this as an example) by one inch is really going to make a big difference.

Probably you won't notice any pixelation. Certainly Nintendo wouldn't release a new revision of DS if it would have pixelated graphics. DSi has longer battery life than the current DSi, so I think it's worth it if you don't own a DSi and would like to play games where a big screen makes a difference, like games with lots of text info on screen.

Getting a DSi XL when you have a Regular DSi is just stupid but not having a regular one, you might want to get the DSi XL

Thanks for the help, also I own a M3 DS real which has built in emulators but it requires extra memory that my DS doesn't have and I don't want to get a slot-2 device so that I can emulate games on it but as the DSi has more ram than the other models would it be able to emulate the games with no memory problems ?

I think the whole thing with the DSi is that it is so compact and fits nicely in your pocket, much bigger and it wouldnt fit .

I don't think it's worth to buy that if you allready got a DS well it's better than the DSi but so what?Who needs that? I don'tAnd you don't need a browser on it there is already a DS browser card.

Personally, I'd rather wait until the console itself comes out and I've had time to hear reviews from people who've tried it out. For all we know, it won't even make that much of a difference in gameplay. What concerns me is that with this larger screen, if they use this to fit more text into a single screen, if one tries to play the same newer games on an older DS (like a regular DS Lite), might you not be able to read this text, like it might get jumbled together by being crammed into a smaller resolution? I've heard a lot of concerns from people worrying about graphics from older games getting pixelated by being shown on a larger screen, but I've yet to hear anyone else who shares my concerns about the games made with the DSi XL/LL being difficult, if not impossible to use on the smaller screens. Or will they be made explicitly for the newer console and everyone else is just going to be left in the dark, like with the games you have to download for DSi and can *only* play on there?

Well I certainly do not think it's going to be pixelated, because why would Nitendo release it just so it has bad quality? But then again, if you already have a DSi, i don't see the point of getting another one . :P

It's like the new ipod nano. Who needs a camera when you've already got a digital camera or mobile phone!

Personally, in my opinion, it wouldn't be worth buying a DSi XL if you already own a normal DSi. But if you haven't bought one of the smaller consoles, then I guess it would be recommended to purchase one of the XL's. I haven't heard much from it, but I'm assuming that the graphics and resoloution of the screens are much better. The downside is that it isn't portable, and is more of a console for home. But, it's up to the customer's opinions and thoughts really. :channel:
