I'm not one for one liners, so buckle your seat belts, it's gonna be a while.New Super Mario Bros (DS)Platform/ Role Playing GamePremise: (4 /10)Game play: (8 /10)Visual: (8/10)Audio: (7/10)Appeal: (8/10)Overall: (7/10)In depth review:Premise (4/10)Yikes, hurts doesn't it? Mario games tend to have a recurring theme, and this one is no exception. Bowser steals Princess Peach from her castle and our mustachioed hero, Mario, has to go and rescue her. Wash, rinse and repeat, wash, rinse and repeat. The only difference is now, it's Kid Bowser doing the work. Perhaps they think Peach is a family heirloom? When will Peach get fed up and get a gun or something? Or learn to get a royal guard to follow her around? Bowser never seems to tire of stealing her away...hasn't he been blown up or burned alive enough times to get the point yet? I'm starting to think Mario fried his brains the first time around...also, why doesn't Bowser spend his time teaching his kid to treat people, namely one pink clothed princess, with more respect? Every time you defeat another guardian castle, out goes the kid, and he's dragging peach along with him, feet and dress flying up in the air in a quite undignified fashion. Yet, we all love to fight our way to the end to watch the tough old spiky shell get roasted with lava. Violence seems to be our fulfillment here. Stepping on top of minions heads, or sending koopas flying into other koopas, hockey puck or foot ball style. (Punt!) Gameplay (8 /10)Mario Bros most appealing feature here may be it's player versus player mode. You rush against your opponent to get a set amount of stars through various rounds. You can steal other opponents stars, fight with them for the spoils, set traps for them to fail while you go for the gold, or grab a super mushroom and watch them run away from the giant you as you smash all obstacles in your way with your sheer size and force. (Squish them, squish them now!) In the storyline mode, the game gives you ample amount of challenge for you to play with, and you might actually find yourself having to plan (Maybe.) if you want to achieve a certain goal. Visual (8/10)The visuals are nice here. The background and character designs are nice for a Mario Bros transition to DS capabilities, yet it seems a bit lacking. They could add a bit here and there, and for god sakes, do something with Kid Bowser's hair. Also, if Peach floats down from her platform at the end, why the heck couldn't she try to escape that way? Why wait till the end?! *sigh* Typical helpless princess model.Audio (7/10)Not much to say here. The folks took some old Mario tracks and revamped them to fit the mood and capabilities of the DS. Nothing really new here. Still, they did try and be a bit more versatile than previous games.Appeal (8/10)Mario is a classic. There is really an infinite potential for appeal here. The fact that they revamped a lot of things here and dished it back out, perfectly suited for the DS, is nice, and draws people. In the end, Mario fanatics pine for this game. It's a new spin off an old favorite that doesn't know when to die, yet somehow manages to survive with little change in content. I think they take the statement: "Why fix something that's not broken?" A bit to far. Yet, that is just me, see for yourself.Overall (7/10)You know the drill, so I don't need to say. This is Mario fighting for Peach's lively hood, (Yet again.) against a new generation of Bowser fiend, who seems to have spontaneously arisen from the dust...(Who's Bowser's wife I wonder? Bowser was a skeleton when we saw him...) The greatest part of this game is fighting your friends, although for me, it's watching, because when I play, my friends always lose, and that's no fun. All in all, it is simply:The one line tie:The classic Mario game we all know and love, with a DS style twist.

Well lately i've just seen Shai posting alot of topics. Anyone going to warn him or is that ok? Topic spamming with just a few titles is really lame. I mean why would you do that? Just for some ROMS? Or just for some cool stuff in the gp store?
