Opinions/thoughts on the ening of Assassin's Creed 2. (Possible spoiler)

So, I would like to start this topic off by giving kudos to the creators of the game. Let's get this started. Personally I think that the game ended leaving the possibility of a third. Any opposing theories?

It is always a good idea for game designers to leave open the possibility for another in the series. leaving the plot open like that can give it a sort of mysterious appeal even if they don't make a Assassins Creed 3. If they do it's because it's popular.
