The one I'm on currently? Probably spilling things into it to the point of it shorting out a number of keys. Green tea, coffee, wine, soda, you name it....it's been spilled in it. Then one day, my hard drive failed (gee, I don't know why...) and I had Geek Squad come out to fix it. They get it working, I paid them, went to bring it back to my room... I tripped, fell, and dropped the computer so hard that the battery went flying out. :D That SUCKED, btw. In general though, the worst that's happened to a computer of mine was most definitely the one that caught on fire.

My computer before this one had the worst damage. One day, I tried to turn it on, and nothing would work. It would go to the screen informing me it had improperly restarted due to manual shutdown or a power-out, and when I tried to make it "start computer normally" the keyboard and mouse didn't work. Neither did a new keyboard. My dad, who works with computers, couldn't even manage to fix it.So I got a new one. It's pretty chill so far, I've had it about... oh, four, five years now?

My laptop dropped onto the floor a couple of times. And then there are times where I will happily switch on the laptop, thought I had plugged in the adapter and so remove the battery.

The worst thing I've ever had happen to a computer was a virus that managed to make its way onto my hard drive. It took me 3 months to get everything cleaned out and re-installed, but everything is back to normal now. I have to remind myself to stop downloading sketchy programs...

Depending how far a fall it was and what exactly it fell onto, you'd be amazed at just how resilient a lot of laptops are. My first one, which is still functional (I just use it for storage now because it's really slow), I don't know HOW many times I dropped it in the first year of owning it.... Easily a dozen. 5 years later, the thing still somehow works.

I would say when it said POOF and died on me after only 5 years of use >.< But I also dropped my laptop but it only got a few scrathes so for now it seem to be working.

Laptops unfortunately don't have the longer lives of desktops. :wallbash: You get the wonderful portability aspect, but the cast is that they honestly do not survive as long, and unless you know what you're doing, they're far harder to fix. (Desktop computers, I've known how to open up and swap parts in and out since I was about 12. Laptops, though....I honestly have no clue because I've never worked on one, and don't want my machine becoming the guinea pig.)

Well, the worse thing that happened to one of my old computers was that after adjusting a little adapter board for a slot processor, it not only burn out the board, but the connector on the motherboard too.Good thing that computer was more than a secondary machine to me.

My ex-boyfriend's stupid dog kept on running into the screen when I was sitting on the couch. One day, I open it and SNAP! .... One of the two hinges broke.

worst that happened was that my keyboard wouldn't work for some reason. no one understood why, and i work with computers A LOT. i ended up just backing up everything and installing windows 7. Worst thing that happened while building a computer was that the motherboard fried. Not sure how it happened, but when i plugged in a headset into the case audio port i saw a spark arc across the plug to the port, shutting the computer off completely. idk how it even happened cuz i looked inside the computer and checked that i had the case ports and everything plugged in the right spots ._.

couldnt turn it on as it was reeeeeeally laggy....

probably a mass amount of viruses on it -.-' same thing happened to my cousins computer and his Norton account had expired 3 years earlier. MASSIVE amounts of viruses so i reinstalled XP for em.

blue screen of death, now computer wont work and i gotta use a different computer that doesn't have all my files.

pull the HDD and put add it on the one your using :3
