Wow, I haven't gotten to one of these first in a while. Hmm, pretty sure the answer to this is "oil". It is used to cook foods, is used in making plastics and some medicines. It is also a rare resource, so people fight over it.

I'm going to guess mime which is both a noun and verb as you stated. It fits the clue of someone, or the act of, copying something someone else does. Mimes are also entertainers.

Thing is, a mime actually is a style of acting using only body and gesture movement but not what's been mentioned in the clues. This is why I was contemplating on 4 points.(By the way teds, if you do get it, just post it below instead of editting your above post.)

Copycat would indeed be a good answer but it doesn't fit the verb category very well.Don't give up though. You'll probably be hitting yourself when you find out what the answer is.

Hmm, I don't think mimicry is both a noun and a verb though. This is probably wrong but I am going to try clown. Clowns are entertainers who sometimes copy people in the audience. Clown is also a verb.

Wait! Two problems:1) You're giving more than one answer. As I mentioned in the first post, I won't give any points if you don't select ONE answer.2) The clue states the answer is 1 word.
