Secret of Mana..? It's for the SNES.I played that a lot when I was little, and started it up again a year ago.

Add Secret of Mana two if you can find it. It is the better than the first and is varily replayable.

Golden Sun, classic game made during a great era for hand-held(gba,gbc) rpgs.

I would suggest Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem:Sacred Stones for the GBA.Both games are really good and I enjoyed playing both.

As others have said any pokemon or fire emblem game is gonna be great.I would also suggest trying some of the advance wars games. Turned based RTS that's pretty easy to pick up.

I second the vote for Golden Sun on GBA. Good story and battle system make for a solid game. Although I kept getting lost on the world map and would end up in the wrong place more often than not, but I have this problem in a lot of RPGs.

I strongly recommend the final fantasy and fire emblem series. The plotlines are well done and character development is amazing for games of their generation~

As people have stated, any game in the pokemon/super mario series would be a winner. Mario Tennis-power tour was a great game too.
