I used to belong to the "geek/dork/nerd" clubs. First it was computer club, then it was the audio and visual club. I just couldn't see myself doing a sport, or joining a uniformed group, like the scouts or the national cadet corps. I never really attended any meetings though.

Well, not sure just how much they count, but I did spend a year on the basketball team (then decided it wasn't for me...being super short and all), spent another year doing cheerleading.... and that's about it for the organized extracurricular activities. I pursued music on my own.

I'm in my school Jazz Band, which is stupidly big. I'm also in our Science Club, which touches on topics we never do, like robotics. I also have some sort of debating club, where we choose and debate on a topic. And yet there's no Chess Club. :sly:

I used to do some extra math or art when I younger, did some sort of acting but never found it interesting enough to stick around. Kinda feel like when you get older, you get more work in school and less time to do all that extra, fun stuff.

Back when I was in school I was in most of the "geek" activities, a badge I wore with pride. I was in the band, on the math team, did some Key club, and was in National Honor Society. By far the coolest, if you can call it that, was math team. Multiple times a year there would be various saturday morning competitions. While this sounds like it could suck, this meant that we were generally staying in a hotel friday night, with only one adult supervisor who didn't much care what we did so long as we studied for a couple of hours. Oh, the fun we had drinking coffee to excess and doing hotel tag at 1 am...

When I was in school I participated in a few different activities which ran after school, including netball and badminton. I do roller skating as a form of fitness and competition as well, but that's not related to school, just something I started when I was young. I also used to play french horn in school but gave it up when I finished mainly because I didn't want to spend the millions to buy my own one!

Very Good

Posted 13 February 2010 - 05:05 PM

I used to quite a lot back then. Mostly used to be sports. But I remember we had this other club sorta thing. It was called Andy's Learning and Support :weep: Sessions.Basically, it was like a little after school club where we older kids would help the smaller kids with homework problems and things they didn't understand in class. Anything like Maths, Science or English. We would just go and help for about half an hour..It was all started up and monitored by a teacher named "Andy." It was actually REALLY good. We actually enjoyed being a bit like mini-teachers and also the little kids got quite a lot out of it too.

Another one of Finalage's rare posts in the general public......In highschool, I was always doing those. Especially in my senior year. About once a month I went out for the entire day from my usual school time to visit other schools and educate teachers on the usuage and maintenence of a science mobile lab. I was their teacher, helping them brush up on science and math while teaching them how to operate that media center. I was also a tutor for after school students...other than that, I did a bit of cummunity service, but I mainly was at work all the time. Not much else I had time for...

Well lately i've just seen Shai posting alot of topics. Anyone going to warn him or is that ok? Topic spamming with just a few titles is really lame. I mean why would you do that? Just for some ROMS? Or just for some cool stuff in the gp store?

Now that is useful. But the kids here go for tuition. They don't Pay attention in lower classes and by the time they reach 9th their parents get serious coz they are only one year away from the boards. But its hopeless coz their basics aren't strong yet.Mine are near rock-solid ( well compared to the others) So i have no trouble..(I write this as a free bump.Get chatting friends.:(). I also try helping them but its no use no more.I can't communicate properly.I know english well they don't know too much.I could say balanced by gyroscopic forces or something and they would think i would push them off a see-saw.I can't get through.

I wanted to be a part of the swimming club but I'm so busy I don't have time for that. I also joined the sports club (my sport was volleyball) when I was in my elementary but now, I'm into arts and music.

For a week?Well i left my camp forever because i argued with the referee (Coach) too much and for several other things too.Mmm I felt rather bad after hearing all what he had to say.Found a new place and a new coach. This person actually helps out my old coach get ready for the league. And he was a national player and one of the finest around,Just not famous enough to manage top clubs but qualified.

Well, I want to say that I can sing because I love to sing.... in the shower. As I have said in the other topic, I play guitar and flute(I find this one boring) I am now currently learning how to play the piano. I also like to say that I'm good at playing guitar because I love playing it...... only with my friends. Mixing? Hell yeah. I should do a lot of mixing, especially with colors. I like to make houses. I like architecture. (and anime) Hey I want to play the violin. I think that's cool.
