Well without a keyboard connected to it I suppose you have to use the normal kind of on screen keyboard to enter text. But wouldn't this be annoying when you need to type a lot,Say like an Email or Debates post. You can't see too much of what you are typing and it takes long.So why can't they have another system like mobile phones do so that i do not have to move the D Pad and press OnX every time i want to enter a letter.Or a combination method of analog stick and buttons. If there are any apps that are useful in this regard please notify me.You can Also post an idea for a useful kind of text entry system.

Ya, for sure, that's why I don't like using the internet on the psp, they could add a small keyboard attachment, but i wouldn't be all that interested.

The newer firmware has a fullscreen OSK which makes it a little easier to type in numbers. For text I think it's fine.

There are a few driver plugins to run Non MADE FOR PSP Keyboards on a PSP.I got PSP write A few days ago and tried using it.It had a text entering method which used the anolog stick and the buttons together to enter text. I really like it and was wondering whether there was any plugin or something to make it replace the lame sony one in all the apps. I think PSP write had more symbols than the default sony one so i guess its not possible

That will take a while I'll describe it. The work area where the text appears has a slight texture. The Keyboard is operated like the analog Button combo i mentioned in the first post. There is a 3X3 grid of squares with 4 letters in each. The []XO Give you the letters while the /\ is a punctuation mark. You have to use the analog stick to point in the direction of the square you want. 1st square ABC! 2nd BCD, and so. The middle has M N space and backspace. I'll get an image in soonEdit: Posted ImageThat's the keyboard

I'm probably one of the few to not mind the PSP's solution all that much, but that may be from where I'm used to the old way to text on a phone (hit the number keys until you get what you want). As for a better solution? A peripheral would be the only way, in two flavors. One for the standard PSPs (1000, 2000, 3000), and another for the PSP Go (aka N1000). A sliding keyboard would've been much better, but alas, that one's impossible without a new model now.

As much as typing in any amount of text is an absolute pain using a PSP, I don't think there's enough text to warrent getting a whole new addon for the system. Sure, if it were priced at, like, five dollars, it might be worth picking up after getting a little discount on a game or something, but...more than likely, with the software included, anything they sell is likely to be a 20-dollar headache that'll wind up lost, broken, or just misused in some way.Of course this is all speculation, but I just don't see a keyboard for a handheld worth the money and inconvenience it's going to wind up causing.
