I've decided to get back into emulating old games, mostly because all my actual old games have been played to death.So I present my fellow dgemu members this:What do you use to play your roms? Any suggestions would be fantastic as I am considering my options now.

Keyboards are not a good substitiution for joysticks. Joysticks are much easier to control. I only have a keyboard so yeah.

I only use my keyboard, since it's stuck to my computer and I don't own anything else that I can use :(

If I'm at home, I use one of my 360 controllers, if I'm out and about I'm using my keyboard. Before I bought a 360 I just used my keyboard, for sure.

I find it so hard to use a keyboard for most roms, I use and have always liked my logitech dule shock controler. It was only like $15 when i bought it and has lasted me like 5 years so far.I diden't know i could use a PS3 controler on my computer. :foldarms:

Well, since you're running different emulators, i'd say the keyboard is best. Easily customisable, and simplest to figure stuff out. Most handheld console games aren't designed for efficient game-controller use. Besides, I really like the way that DeSmuME handles the mouse/touch-interface for NDS games. Very smooth. Not so when I experimented with my 360 controller.However, I always use my controller for FPS games.

Old-fashioned keyboarding for Emu-games... though, I HAVE been thinking of getting a PC controller... at least one that I can plug into any of my USB ports.

i used to use keyboard, but than got my hands on a USB controller. more recently however, i've finally settled on a PS3 controller being run through MotionInJoy's driver software. the cool thing with that is it lets me preset the controller as any of the playstation styles, or as a XBOX controller layout, which comes in handy for the handful of games i have on steam that are very OBVIOUSLY console ports with barely any cleanup. steam usage aside though, the software comes in very handy for setting up the custom configs, which work well for the veritable bucketload of various emulators i use ^^;

I use a USB controller and customize the buttons, too. Some games are more comfortable to play if you use something other than default.
