Final Fantasy A2strategy RPGPremise: 4/10Gameplay: 8/10Visual: 8/10Audio: 5/10Appeal: 8/10Overall: 7/10Premise: 4/10A boy reads a magic book which sends him to another world. It's been done before, many times before. Those who have played FFTA noticed Mr. Randell's name-
The premise for the story is functional, if a little unbelievable. Here's a little kid, who kills monsters and fights and drinks in a pub. YEAH. The plot is somewhat more believable, but him trying to get back home seems to take a backseat to killing stuff.Gameplay: 8/10Gameplay is very fun. Turn-based, grid combat is nothing new, but being able to controll with stylus and d-pad equally well is a nice touch. I prefer d-pad. Menus are easy to see and easily navigated. Difficulty is scaled down in the begining, but does get harder. Still not very hard, even without grinding, although the bosses may present a little problem. Feeling cheated during a battle doesn't happen to often, but enemies seem to have better accuracy than shown. Not game-breaking, just a little annoying.Visual: 8/10Pretty good for a ds. Sprites are a little small, but see-able. All main characters have their own sprite, all other members have recycled sprites. Most weapons have different looks, but its not very noticable for the most part. Lots of detail, but I feel like there could have been more.Audio: 5/10Nothing great, but nothing bad either. I wasn't in love with the music, and i usually play with the music off, and put my own tunes on. There wasn't anything that made me annoyed at it, just that it wasn't good. You've heard most of it before, i promise.Appeal: 8/10I generally like FF games, and strategy games. I liked this game. It's fun for a while, but it does feel tedious after you've been playing for a while and can see no end in sight. Good replay value, but only after you've had a break from it. I played this and beat it during a mission trip and then at a camp, so it's do-able in under 200 hours.Overall: 7/10It's a really great game, but i doubt you'll be able to finish without getting bored or the gameplay becoming repetetive. It's a book that writes itself! AMAZING!

isnt that an average score of 6.6/10
Challenge met!100 hours, 256/300 missions done, I didn't tire of it. I mean, I wrapped up the story before I got too bored with it (not particularly mentally taxing, I must say), so that kind of counts.I would have gone:Premise: 5/10Hey, what works works. The story is stupid, but there's nothing that actually detracts from it.Gameplay: 8.5/10+.5 for having extra emphasis on unit placing, with 2x damage when hit from the back. Cheap? Possibly, but for a strategy game, makes you think that little more.Visual: 8/10I 'spose.Audio: 5/10Don't remember it, so lets go with this.Appeal: 8.5/10I just have a thing for SRPGs.Overall: 7/10Although not particularly challenging and at times tedious, still a solid SRPG.It's a really great game, but i doubt you'll be able to finish without getting bored or the gameplay becoming repetetive.

I like SRPGs too, but seriously. I have to agree with zk. There're too many sidequests to grind out, and they're just there so obsessive little me just HAD to do them. And after a while I just got bored of them. Might be because I did the Disgaea-style customising and grinding of characters, making the battles rather easy.(no i have no ratings or anything, this isn't a proper Reviews post. just had to add a little IMHO in here, sorry)
