It depends on the game. For straight forward RPGs I don't like to use them but when there's alot of missable secrets then I'd rather get those than miss out on the fun

Usually I'd like to keep away from a walkthrough. However, that depends on the type of game and the difficulty level. Like Shadowalker said, if the game (like an RPG) has several secrets, then I'd rather use the walkthrough to find 'em out. Also, if I get stuck, then I'd have to use the walkthrough. But only if the game's interesting enough. Games like Harvest Moon or Princess Maker constantly require a walkthrough.

i frequently use a walkthrough, but only when needed e.g: -when stuck on a level and what to do next -when looking for secret items/monsters/achievementssometimes i even use walkthroughs when choosing a charater at th start of an RPG game just so that i can decide which character will be th right one for me and uses abilities and fighting styles to which i am more comfortable with

I only use it when I am stuck on a level and is really fustrated. But I don't use it on puzzle games such as professor layton.

I like them when I need them but I prefer to stay away and not get tempted to use it because it'll spoil my game. I like the thrill of not knowing what's going to be next and then finding it out all by yourself.

whenever I play a game, I like to convince myself that there are no walkthrough, so I wouldn't think about using them.I also like to use them when I finish the game, and I want to restart, and do a perfect run.

I love them. If you get a game called 'Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth', you'll want to use a walkthrough eventually. If not, always. So it's a yes from me.

Yes, and no. They're good at helping me when I'm stuck in a situation, or don't feel like spending an hour trying to figure out what I'm doing. On the other hand, I grow too dependent on them, and end up having less fun as a result.

Yeah, I use them for the perfect run (especially useful on the xBox to get the achievements) but not on the first go. Half the fun (and all the frustration) comes from accomplishing the game on your own - for the glory and warm fuzzy feeling at the end. If I get stuck on a game I give up for a few days or a weeks or so and come back later, with a fresh mindset and try again. But then again, I'm very proud and hate to ask for help on most things, so I guess it's a personality thing.

I prefer beating the game myself first. Then use the walk through for secrets. However, sometimes I am stuck and have to use it sooner.

It depends on the game really. I use walkthroughs when I want a 100% in a game.

Always useful for games with all the side stuff, collectibles, etc. But for anything else, I'll just keep trying at it on my own until I figure it out. Takes some of the accomplishment out of it when you use a guide the whole time.

I use them sometimes. Although mainly for adventure games and most for the side quests that I'm to lazy to do.

I use them when I get really stuck on a game, but I tend to try and stay away from them. I do like having complete item lists around though, so I can finish my own.

it certainly is helpful in some games especially when you're stuck at one point :shifty: but there really is no fun in just following a walkthrough in my opinion lol and common...more reading?

i try to play through the game without them but often just start to feel lazy and begin using them and, depending on the writer, they can be very helpful.

i only use walkthrough's if i can't finish the game without it. A good example is wright ace attorney, that game is awsome without a walktrough, but if i get stuck, then i'd have to use it..

I'll only use a walkthrough if I've already beaten the game once or twice, just to see if I missed anything worthwhile.I only use online ones though, many of the published walkthroughs have grossly inaccurate information since they're typically written while the game is still in development. Also, they tend to leave out a lot of easter eggs and exploits, and their strategies are almost always "power level and attack as often as possible."

I only use walkthroughs if I'm stuck on a puzzle in a Tales Of game or something.Online walkthroughs generally cover things more in depth than the published walkthroughs. That and it's free....And I really don't want to flip through hundreds of pages to find a certain strategy to use when I could just use ctrl+f.
