I say no. I hear that you can't fit it in your pocket anymore!

Yes! It definitely is!I never realized how annoying the screen was on the ds until I got the dsi xl, it makes a big difference imo. And it has cool applications, but they're probably all present in the dsi too.

I say wait until the 3DS comes out, which I think was supposed to be next year. I think the dsi XL is too bulky and isn't very portable

Unless you've got plenty of money burning holes in your pockets, hold out for the 3DS. Otherwise, determine if the increased size is worth the reduced portability.Personally, I have large hands but find the DS to be a good size and never saw much point in moving to the DSi or DSi XL.

I love my new DSi XL. It's so big it could almost pass for a netbook!

I think you have consider certain points to judge if it's worthy or not:1. Do you already own a DS? If you own a DS (the first one) or DS Lite, you have to consider that you'll lose the GBA Slot. If you own a DSi, you'll only get a bigger screen and longer battery life. 2. Do you care about portability? XL is bigger so it could be considered less portable than the previous ones.3. Do you care about screen size and camera? If not, you may want to consider a DS Lite, if you're short on money.

DS Lite is the best, if that's what you like.

DS lite IMO is the best one made so far, granted the DSI do have the camera and a few, only like 5 that im aware of, games that are only for DSI (thus making it its own system IMO, there isnt enough to validate getting a DSI/XL over a ds lite

I own a DS Lite. Even if my Lite breaks, I'm not buying a DSi of any description as I'd rather save my money for the 3DS when it comes out.Seriously not worth it just for a couple of cameras, downloadable shovelware and a slightly bigger screen.

DSI itself is pretty much worth it (if you dont have a3ds already) but XL takes great advantage of lots of games that need the touchscreen and the higher resolution make it better for software like art academy and warioware diy, because you know, there is more screen to do things on.

the XL is pretty much EXACTLY the same as the Dsi only differences are: better battery power, its bigger, you get some free apps [they most likely are crappy ones] for the extra 50 bucks you waste on it [whereas you can just go to gamestop and buy a used DSi and if it has points on it use em up on good games put em on an SD card, swap out the Dsi the next day, reasoning: oh my brother wanted it in black. note: you can go to different game stops and do that=Free apps much better!!] DSiXL seems to be a waste of money in my opinion i already have enough trouble dropping my dsi so that thing would be S.O.L within minutes of me having it...but thats me. it would be better for a 2 year old versus the dsi or someone who does better with bigger controls though.

it's much more ergonomic than the ds lite. I only bought mine because my ds lite's hinge broke. But I can say that the larger screen estate is worth it. A big improvement to the old design. Useful if you use ebook reading software homebrew. I'm really into books so I saw the ds xl as a ebook reading tool which is a big point why it's worth it, at least, for me. It really depends on what you want.

Personally i'd say no. I usually don't get handheld's that get as big as this one. I think at a certain point or size this handheld wouldn't count as a handheld anymore. I also don't have the money for one right now :) ....so maybe i'll re-think my thoughts on the DS XL once i get one or try it out sometime.

I would say no! Because its big, it plays the games badly... It messes with alot of games graphics, this can effect playing experience and make them less enjoyable. Also with its big size i find them harder to handle and also have less abilty to place in a pocket while walking.Apart from this, they can be good for reading or people who have troubles seeing the smaller DS screens.

for the size of the screen compared to the lite or regular dsi, it is way worth it, if only they would make a 3ds xl
